Tim slowly backtracks when he sees Bart and Jason laughing with a laptop open. They are so invested in whatever is on the screen that they do not see him walk up to them. As he goes to look, Bart closes the top which catches Jason’s finger.
“Hi Tim, I didn’t see you there. I thought you and Mari were going to be away for the day.” Bart questions, slowly placing the laptop in between him and Jason.
“We had plans, but Marinette got an emergency commission, so we decided to go to dinner later. What were the two of you up to? Do I need to call Morningstar?”
Tim narrows his eyes at the duo. Jason huffs with a smirk, crossing his arms. He was not about to talk nor was Bart who copies his actions.
In this moment, Tim has a couple options. He can press them harder for information, leave them and go hack the computer himself, or fake the duo out. Before he can choose Alfred walks in the living room.
“Master Tim, I believe Miss Marinette was asking for you. She said it ‘top secret and only Tim can help me’ so I assume it is urgent.”
Tim ponders for a moment. Marinette wants coffee but does not want Alfred to know so she can avoid the caffeine lecture. However, Jason and Bart are hiding something. If Alfred stays in the living room, he can get coffee and hot chocolate without judgement.
“I was just about to go. Bart and Jason said they wanted to show you something on their laptop. You should stay here and see for yourself.”
“Whatever you wish, Master Tim.”
Tim gives his own smirk as Bart pouts and Jason rolls his eyes. Alfred raises an eyebrow as Tim scurries off to the kitchen. He gives the group a minute of silence before turning to the guilty party.
Bart and Jason have a silent conversation before they slowly pull the laptop out. Alfred waits for an explanation. Bart rubs his hands together as he looks Alfred dead in the eye.
“What mischief have you both been participating in?”
“Actually, it was not us this time.”
Alfred facepalms. He knew exactly who they meant.
“What did Aster give you?”
“This is a discord server that can show the opposite side of the 4th wall! It is dedicated to shipping Tim and Marinette. People have some interesting theories about them.”
“The art is nice.”
Alfred stands to leave.
“I prefer the name Shutterbug,” he says through a smirk.
Jason reluctantly pulls out his wallet, handing money to Bart.
