“I want a blue dress.” Lila stomped her foot and crossed her arms. “Not a purple dress.” Her lips wobbled, and tears pooled in her eyes.
Severus looked at her in disappointment, his lips pressed in a thin line. “That’s no way to act, Lila. If you keep this up, we’ll leave without any dresses.”
A tear slipped down her rosy cheek. “Okay, Dad.” She mumbled.
Sirius came back with a sparkly blue dress and silver slippers. “Is this better?”
Lila nodded and wiped away her tears.
Severus sighed, picking up his daughter. “I’m not angry; I’m simply reminding you of the rules.”
With her face buried in his chest, Lila whispered something. Severus rubbed her back and carried her through the shop, even though she was old enough to not need to be carried.
