Assuming it was his new task, he opened it.
Win Secret life.
He already succeeded that, he had killed Pearl and every other of his friends.

Again.

Scar pressed the succeed button for what felt like and may have well been the infinitieth time.
3…2…1… Win Secret life.
“So this is how it’s going to be then,” Scar said smiling, feigning hopefulness and having even an ounce of sanity. “Just going to win Secret life again and again and again and again- whatever!” Scar stood up. “Fine then, have it your way. I won Secret life, what now? Just give me a new task and let me go back to my friends, I don’t even care anymore!”

If you didn’t kill someone, you would go insane.
And if you decided to resist, you lost part of your life.
Lives, the boogeyman, soulbound, time, secrets, what have they come to?
And that’s it.
Green, yellow, red, dead, repeat.
And the watchers- oooh they loved all of it.
“So that’s all it is to you? Just a game of chess and I’m just a measly pawn. And you’re the giant king, controlling everything. Well then, I guess it wouldn’t even make a difference if I killed my friends now because they’d all just come back for the next game and again and again and again- it’s just enough. Just leave us alone.”
Really Scar, stop pretending. You enjoy the bloodshed, the chaos, the carnage of these games. Do you really want them to end for you?
“Fine then, remember that offer from earlier? I-
