Work Text:
"Oh, Moonjo, is that for me?", cooed Mrs. Eom.
The boy kept his head down, his hair long enough to reach the top of his cheekbones.
"Aw, aren't you cute", she chuckled, pinching his cheek. "What did you make it with?"
Moonjo shuffled a bit.
He would soon be celebrating his ninth birthday. He was one of the most promising children of the orphanage: he read more quickly than others, worked more efficiently, followed around the doctor whenever she came and then imitated her once he was back in his room, stole her tools.
But there was the problem of his mood, it still changed so easily. One moment he was cheerful and talkative, the other he stared outside and refused to answer her. Well, it could be straightened out.
Finally, he raised his face, two dark eyes appearing behind heavy bangs.
"My teeth, Mrs. Eom", he replied, offering her a more or less toothless grin.
"Aigoo, did you keep them all to make this for me?", she asked, and ruffled his hair. "You're such a nice boy, good job..."
Moonjo's grin widened at the praise, and his eyes focused on the necklace she held in her hand.
He'd used loose threads for it, and glue and the precious teeth he kept after each fell.
Mrs. Eom was like a mother to him.
"I'll make you another one", he promised.
Mrs. Eom shook her head, snorting.
"How will you do it, didn't all your teeth fall already?"
"I can find others", he promised.
When she gave him a questioning glance, he repeated:
"I can find others."
