Valkyrie had a big smile on her face every time they had sex, usually Carol could tell the reason for it but today it looked more like a mysterious grin than anything else.
"What?"
"I just think it's curious that you didn't accept to be my Queen, but you did to be my valentine. You're a very peculiar woman, Carol Danvers."
"Or the Asgardian costumes are too outdated."
"If I ever gave a damn about it I wouldn't be in bed with you right now."
"Well, you did care that I'm someone else's Queen..."
Valkyrie throws a pillow at Carol who pulls her closer for a hug.
"I'm happy that you accepted to be my valentine, Val."
"Me too."
Captain Marvel touches Valkyrie's chin and places a soft but passionate kiss on her lips while still holding her on her arms. The Asgardian's Queen thinks, even though she only saw Carol every now and then, her Captain always made it worth the wait.
"I suppose we'll do this again next year, Captain?"
"And every year after that."
She still didn't have a Queen, but it is good to be Captain Marvel's "friend", and valentine for every Valentine's Day that comes.
