Marinette tells Lila that she thinks they should start dating
Lila is perplexed as they had a home together and a cat and had been a couple for 14 years.
She is a little confused How Marinette didn't understand you don't have a mortgage with people that you are not in a serious relationship with.
"1,900 times!" Lila declared forcefully as she stomped around the living room in her Bra and knee length green skirt and furry fox shaped slippers, as their caramel coloured cat Haystack sat on one of the facing chairs in a Cat Loaf shape and looked back and forth at his mistresses like he was watching a Tennis match play out.
"Sorry ?" Marinette responded in confusion.
"1,900 times" Lila repeated."That is how many times we've made love in the last 13 years or so. When we were shuddering in each other arms screaming the other's name it didn't cross your mind that we might be you know... 'A couple' ?
"Couples are Married" Marinette replied.
"Huh ?" Lila replied even more confusion evident in her tone "So, you think we are not in a serious relationship as we are not married?" Lila picked up her phone adding "I'm free next week".
"Free for what ?" Marinette looked up from where she was hand stitching a separated seam in one of Lila's favorite blouses which she'd just ripped when she made an exasperated gesture as Marinette dropped her bombshell on her that 'they should start dating'.
"To get a Marriage license, Or we can go get married in Scotland tomorrow if you like" Lila stated.
"Scotland ?" Marinette said with even more confusion of her own.
"Or if you want a fancy wedding, I think we will have to plan further in advance.. September might be possible if we start in on the planning as soon as possible" Lila said holding up a single index finger in an gesture of affirmation.
"Oh!" Marinette said looking down at the Blouse and then up again at Lila.
"Oh what ?" Lila asked.
"You want to Marry me?" Marinette squeaked out with a shocked expression to match as if the idea had never occurred to her before.
"Yes" Lila said as if the idea was self evident.
"Why ?" Marinette tentatively asked in return.
"Because I thought we'd already established the whole "serious part" when we got a joint mortgage".
"Why on Earth did you have sex with me nearly 2000 times if you didn't think we were serious... ? are you that horny ? Am I just a masturbation tool?"
Marinette looked shocked. "No I had sex with you as I love you !".
"Er, good, me too" Lila responded her ire cooling a bit at her Girlfriend's declaration of Love.
"Marinette" Lila said pinching the bridge of her nose in exasperation before continuing calmly "tell me how you think we've been living together for more than a decade and are not a dating couple again ?"
"You've never asked me out!" Marinette said.
"Huh, I remember it very differently!" Lila replied.
