Wukong woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, tears running down his cheeks. He tried to catch his breath and calm himself down again, but it didn't work. He had dealt with nightmares countless of times alone before, but this time he felt like he needed somebody.
Wukong trembled as he got up from his bed and walked out into the corridor outside his room. He turned his head to the side, looking at Macaque's bedroom door. He slowly made his way over to the door and was about to knock when he hesitated. He didn't wanna bother Macaque if he was asleep, Wukong was about to walk back to his room when he heard Macaque's voice through the door.
"Are you gonna knock or not?" Wukong quickly stopped and looked back at the door. He walked back and slowly opened the door, closing it behind him after he had walked in. Wukong stood by the door not moving a muscle, "You know you can come closer, I don't bite" Macaque commented.
Wukong slowly approached Macaque and stood by the side of his bed, he looked at Macaque who was sitting on the bed waiting to hear what he had to say this late at night. "So?" Macaque broke the silence again. Wukong looked down at the floor, "Can.. Can we cuddle?" Macaque looked at Wukong, "Wow, The Great Sage Equal To Heaven comes to me for comfort?" He said in a joking tone. Macaque already knew that Wukong was scared, he could hear his heartbeat beating faster than normal and his shaking hands. Not to mention the tears he tried to hide.
"Shut up" Wukong turned his head away and whispered, "I knew this was stupid.." Macaque looked at Wukong and let out a small sigh, "Come on" he patted his hand on his bed beside him. Wukong slowly sat down on the bed, "Lay down" Macaque instructed, Wukong did as Macaque told and laid down.
Wukong felt a blanket gently fall on top of him, he also felt Macaque's arms wrap around him pulling him closer to Macaque's chest. Wukong was taken by surprise, not expecting this from Macaque. He didn't resist and snuggled his head in Macaque's chest, it was fluffy and warm.
Wukong rested his eyes, listening to Macaque's heartbeat finally starting calm down. Not before long Wukong was fast asleep. Macaque smiled as he gave Wukong a kiss on his forehead before falling asleep himself.
