Chapter Text
In the kingdom of Katolis, Princess Sarai and Prince Harrow lay in their chambers. Sarai had just given birth to the kingdom's newest edition to the royal family Prince Ezran. Sarai and Harrow sat there in awe, staring at their son. “He’s perfect,” Harrow said.
Then there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Sarai said. The doors opened in an instant, allowing King Atticus and Prince Callum, who was in his pajamas, to enter.
“Where’s my new grandson?” King Atticus asked. “He’s right here,” Sarai replied, passing Ezran to Atticus. Atticus studied Ezran from his curly hair to his blue eyes. Ezran was wrapped in a red swaddling blanket. “Hello Prince Ezran, I have a feeling you'll do great things as king.” Atticus kissed Ezran on the forehead and passed him to Harrow.
“Can I hold him?” Callum asked. “Of course,” Harrow replied, “here, sit down in the chair.” Callum eagerly sat in the chair and Harrow gave Ezran to Callum. That was the moment he knew he was going to love being a big brother. He was going to love and protect Ezran till the day he died. “Hi, I promise to be the best big brother in the world,” Callum whispered. Then almost as if he understood what Callum said, Ezran cooed. Sarai and Harrow adored the sight of their sons being together.
Then Claudia and Soren barged in, arguing with Viren slowly following behind. “I should see the baby first since I'm older!” Soren shouted. “Nuh-uh, have you ever heard of the saying ‘ladies first’?” Claudia shouted back. “That doesn't even apply here,” Soren said. “It does too!” Claudia argued. Then Claudia and Soren went back and forth with “nuh-uh” and “uh-huh” while Viren rolled his eyes.
King Atticus cleared his throat to get their attention. “Thank you, now you both will have the chance to see the baby,” Atticus walked over to Callum and asked, “May I?” Callum nodded and Atticus took Ezran from Callum to show Soren and Claudia. “Awww he's the cutest baby ever!” Claudia screamed while jumping with excitement.
Meanwhile, Callum jumped into the bed to be at Sarai's side. Callum was thrilled to have a sibling but he also cared about his mother's well-being. Callum could tell that Sarai was exhausted. “Mom, how do you feel?” Callum asked. “I'm okay, sweetheart, just a little tired,” Sarai answered. Callum rested his head on Sarai's shoulder and she rubbed his arm.
Then Callum's governess, soon to be Ezran's, entered the room and curtsied. “I beg your pardon, your majesties, but I'm afraid it's Prince Callum’s bedtime.” Callum wanted to pick a fight and stay up just a little longer, but even he had to admit he was sleepy. So he bid everyone a goodnight, took the governess’s hand and walked back to his bedroom. When they arrived at his room, Callum belly flopped into his bed and the governess tucked him in giggling. “Goodnight Prince Callum, don't let the excitement bugs bite” the she said sarcastically. “Night!” Callum shouted. The governess rolled her eyes and shut the door.
Back in Sarai and Harrow’s chambers, King Atticus, Viren, Claudia, and Soren had left shortly after Callum, leaving the couple alone with Ezran once again. “Are you happy?” Sarai asked tiredly. “Yes I am, thanks to you, we have two precious little boys to spoil, love, and adore!” Harrow said eagerly. Harrow placed Ezran in his crib and climbed into their bed. Sarai scooted over towards Harrow, and he responded by putting his arm around Sarai and they pressed their heads together giggling. That night everyone in the palace was in a good mood.
