Tim knows there are rules to this thing he is doing. Bruce is alive—he has to be—but that doesn’t change the rules. First, he needs to descend. He shouldn’t be surprised he ends up with Ra’s—the demon’s head. After all, he needs to go down into the underworld.
There is another rule: if he wants Bruce, he can’t look back. Tim knows that Bruce is alive. He’s alive because he must be. There is no room for doubt. No room to turn back.
Tim flees Gotham. Dick and Cassie call after him, but he doesn’t look back.
