Chapter 1: Intro

Chapter Text

Maybe it’s my fault I never played the original Kanto remakes. Maybe it’s my fault my shoddy memory forgot that LeafGreen cart I bought once existed and I let it just rot away.

At this point, I’m not sure. And I don’t know if I ever will be.

Well… might as well tell my story. Before he ends up taking me.

As a foreword, I am a… technician, of sorts. I guess you can call me a ROM Hacker, in a way. I have experience with uploading ROMs onto cartridges, mainly for private use for others. I also tend to dabble with technology most Pokemon fans wouldn’t scoff at, mainly setting up computers and the like. Hell, I made my own PC setup. Pretty proud of it, even though I know it’s getting destroyed from the inside out just because of my dumb actions.

Anyway.

I was digging through some older stuff I had, when I came across a box of GBA cartridges. Sitting on my bed, I laid them out so I could look through them to see what I remembered. They were mostly Pokemon ROMs of varying levels of quality, regarding both the cartridges and the contents of the games within

And a single, official game.
Pokemon LeafGreen, sitting pretty among the hacked carts.

I looked at it, shrugged, and decided to pop it into my GBA.

It was just a normal, classic game, right? No big deal. I had time to kill.

…Oh, how I wish I just left it be.
