When the little sister joins in

Summary:

Omega looked at Echo with wide eyes. Echo, who had his arms a bit busy and his hands in a very strategic place that he was probably glad she could not see because now she knew what it was thanks to Tech and all his documentation, had not even pulled his face away from his partner's yet, too surprised to be caught in the act to react.

"Guys..." she began for their brothers inside, "why is Echo kissing Knight Offee?"

Work Text:

Omega looked at Echo with wide eyes. Echo, who had his arms a bit busy and his hands in a very strategic place that he was probably glad she could not see because now she knew what it was thanks to Tech and all his documentation, had not even pulled his face away from his partner's yet, too surprised to be caught in the act to react.

"Guys..." she began for their brothers inside, "why is Echo kissing Knight Offee?"

The unlikely pair parted immediately and while the Jedi had green skin – and perhaps blood of a colour other than red, could she even blush? – Echo's thin, pale skin showed very well how he felt about being caught.

Omega had no mercy, they had smooched – and groped – right outside the door!!!

"Echo is WHAT?!" Hunter exclaimed from the bathroom before a rushing noise could be heard, but by the time they arrived and crowded into the doorway Knight Offee was long gone.

"They were kissing right outside the door, I saw it!" She insisted.

"We're going to sort this out, but you shouldn't stay any longer or you'll be late for your lesson."

"Who cares about lessons?" Wrecker asked, lifting Omega in his arms to bring her back inside. "It's much more important!"

"I understand this opinion, but it is rationally impossible for education to be achieved if the guardians continue to involve the child in private matters during school hours."

"But Tech... you wouldn't even know if it wasn't for me!"

The clone looked at her without any further physical reaction so Omega increased the power of her puppy eyes and took on an imploring expression.

"Please, Tech..."

Hunter was the team leader of the Bad Batch, but everyone in the family knew that Tech was the boss. He was the one to get on your side, the others always gave in to him for these things.

"Please?"

"Fine, but just this once, because the next Echo drama won't get you a pass."

"Yes, thanks!"

"What do you mean, the next ones?"

"You're too dramatic not to do it again, and even if it's not you, your idiot reg is going to drag you into something with Torrent's idiots," Crosshair declared with disinterest.

"I'm not planning to cause any drama, unlike some people," Echo muttered under his breath as he walked past them to sit on the sofa. "And his name is Fives."

"I know," the other grinned.

Their reg was soon surrounded and sighed, but he seemed to take things better than the others.

"So... what do you want to know?"

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"She is."

"For how long? Where did you meet? Did you do any missions or deployments with her? And does she-"

"Omega, please let him answer your first set of questions."

"Sorry."

"We... don't really have a specific date, we got close when I was being treated at the Temple Healing Halls to make my cybernetics easier on my body and talked, went on a few outings and at one point it just... happened. As for our meeting, I think I'd seen her earlier in the war, I remember her doing a few operations with us when I was still in the 501st but we hadn't spoken."

"Yes, it's not surprising."

"Why isn't it?" Omega asked with confusion. "If she was here, they could have talked."

"In those days clones and Jedi didn't mingle with one another so easily," Hunter said calmly. "Even more so than now, many Jedi did not consider clones as people, let alone as equals. What's more, because of questions of hierarchy, Echo would never have dared speak to her."

"The regs are generally less daring."

"Less suicidal too, Echo snapped back."

"That remains to be seen, Rex does some crazy stunts."

"And he challenged Wrecker."

"I've heard that he jumps into the void with his Jedi."

"Now I'm wondering about the regs' ability to pass the mental tests."

"They probably wouldn't pass them," the clone admitted, rubbing his face. "Anyway, don't embarrass her."

"Of course not!" Omega promised earnestly.

Everyone agreed, but as Echo left the room, Crosshair sneered:

"The one we're going to embarrass is you."

They were all on the same wavelength.

She was learning to paint with her group, maybe she could try painting the two lovers and give it to Echo?

Yes, she was going to do that.
