The week was going perfectly. The ninja didnt have any villians or criminals they had to deal with for the whole week and it was almost over. Even the chores Master Wu gave were easier than before! Everyone was finishing off the last of the remaining of whatever they had to do, and getting into bed to finish off their week. To be honest, Jay felt like this was the best week hes ever had as a ninja. Playing Prime empire with Kai and Cole all day, hell, even getting to learn a few things about cooking from watching Zane cook! They somehow got into a food fight mid cooking, but thats besides the point. Almost everyone was back in their shared rooms and they were getting ready to change into their PJs and going to brush their teeth.
As he sat on his bed, suddenly, the security alarm went off, and he swore he could hear a few of the ninjas groaning in annoyance. I mean, he wouldve groaned too! Something just HAD to go wrong. This was the only time they could sleep peacefully, and yet, here they were, getting back up to deal with whatever that had happened this time.
Pixals voice came on over the alarm sounds, her voice sounding like it always did, but with more urgency.
“It looks like someone attacked the bounty. Theyre attacking from the sky and its best we deal with it before they blow our battery.”
That made another tired and annoyed groan come from them. To be honest, all of them were tired of fighting criminals all the time. They wanted a week to just rest and slack off all they want instead of having 50 near to death moments.
As the ninjas got off their beds and went out their cabin, immediately, they were struck by lazers which randomly shot from the sky towards them. They dodged it in time and Nya had to accept the fact that the lazer broke her favorite hairtie, turning it into ashes in an instant.
“Oh come on! That was my favorite hair tie!”
They noticed that there was a ship, not as big as theirs, keeping up with their speed and attacking them. Lloyd sighed before saying in his very obvious sleepy voice:
“Okkaay.. uuh.. lets deal with this quick-
Nya, Zane, you two try to freeze them ;
Kai, you tie them up, —
and me and Jay will distract them and destroy their ship. Now- Ninjaa- GO!”
He yelled before they split up into teams. Nya made water out of air, turning it into a spear and Zane froze them before the two threw it at the enemies direction. Kai caught them mid air around the place and tied them up with rope, and last but not least, Lloyd and Jay distracted them and tried to destroy their ships. As they were doing that, another alarm went off, and the ship slowly started to go down, making everyone look around in confusion. Pixals voice came on, gaining their attention quickly.
“Everyone! The batterys almost out and i dont think well have any for a few more hours! Prepare for landing!!”
As she said that, everyone felt themselves slowly lifting up into the air as the Bounty started falling to the earth’s surface faster and faster each second. Jay yelled with a determined expression, which was met by an instant response.
“I can go recharge it!”
“Jay NO! You know how bad thatll end! You could DIE!”
Kai and the others yelled out in worry. They couldnt go after him because they wouldnt stop being attacked. Thats what Kai hated about the brunette. He always wanted to sacrifice himself. He never really knew how much the others loved him (platonically). Jay still thinks that Kais pissed with him dating his sister, but he’s stopped being pissed about it a long time ago. Besides, its Nyas life instead. Its her choice no matter what Kai says. Jay gave them one glance before entering the Bounty again and he yelled.
“You guys make sure they dont damage our ship even more than it already is! Ill be back before you know it!-“
They knew Jay was gonna get hurt, but they didnt know how much he could get hurt. As Jay opened the door and locked it from behind, he began running through the halls towards the main battery of the Bounty. Lloyd and Zane decided to stay behind to keep the attackers off as Kai, Cole and Nya ran after Jay. They broke down the doors with Coles help and quickly made their way towards the main battery.

Jay put 5 metal stools against the door before he ran towards the many burnt up batteries. He felt his electricity hum underneath his skin, pleading to be released and used already. He popped the metal pieces out and kneeled down. He had done this before, sure, but this time, there was a chance it would be more fatal.. but that wasnt stopping him. He didnt want to dissapoint the others! Hes always been the annoying one on the team and hes getting tired of it. Doing this will prove that hes actually worth something and not weak. Maybe Kai will stop sending him out to sacrifice himself when he notices how hes not weak. He knows Kai doesnt think that and how the other elemental users tease him jokingly, but still! He always messes things up. The least he could do was this.
He heard multiple steps coming closer and closer. He knew the ninjas were coming, and from the sounds, it wasnt long before he heard frantic knocks and thumps as well as yells, telling him to stop. He didnt turn around to look at them as electricity came out from the palms of his hands, charging energy into the battery, in exchange for his own. The ship started going down faster, and he charged more electricity out of panic and fear. Every second felt like an hour for him. It burnt. It burnt and it hurt so much. Way worse than the last time he had pulled off something like this. He hadnt even noticed the tears that were streaming down his cheeks. He wanted to scream. To call for help so the others can bang faster on the door and break it down. He wants to cuddle with Nya, to be in her arms again where they say comforting things to eachother till they fall asleep. He wanted to go back to when he first met Zane and Cole. Back when they trained everyday with Master Wu scolding them and when they said terrible puns to eachother, mimicking Master Wus voice. He wanted to play Prime empire with Kai, to prove to him that he WAS, in fact, better than him at the game. But.. he had to keep going. At least for 2-3 more minutes.

Nya couldnt believe it. What was that idiot thinking?! Was that dude tryna kill himself?! She loved Jay, but MY GOD would he sometimes be stubborn. Especially when it came to protecting his friends. Like- they would be taken captive, and he would either scream at them to let them go, or if that wouldnt work, he would sacrifice his blue ass in return for the others to be saved and for him to be held captive instead of them. That was mostly the reason why she was protective over him. The guy could DIE if she didnt remind him when to stop!
As Nya, Kai and Cole ran through the halls with Cole breaking every door they have to go through. It wasnt long before they made it to the battery room. The thing was, since the room was really important for the ship to work, it was really hard to get in. Like, if Cole could break 5 wooden doors all at the same time, then it would take 3 Coles to break down this one. It was even harder to break through it since it was a metal door, plus, Jay had barricaded it, making it impossible for a normal human to get into. It would take Cole a while, but he could get through. Hopefully. Thats all she knew. As they banged on the door, Nya swore she could feel Jay using more and more electricity as the ship went down. And then came the screams. The horrible, agonizing screams. They pounded harder, and the door flew open.

He was starting to feel sick. He hated it so much. He didn’t think it would get to this point. All he could do was scream as his back arched painfully and he felt himself getting weaker and weaker as each second passed. The Bounty started going back up again, but all he could do was scream in pain. He wanted it to stop. He wanted it to stop so bad. But.. it was his fault after all. He wanted to go by himself, and he wanted to charge the batteries back up. All of this was his own fault. But.. this was for his friends after all. He was doing this for his friends. Right. He had to keep going. But he felt exhaustion creeping up his back as black dots filled his vision. As soon as the Bounty lit back up, he let go and immediately fell limp onto the metal floor, his cheek touching the cold floor. His screams died down as he heard the door break down, and it wasnt long until he felt himself being scooped up into someone’s arms. He probably looked so pathetic and weak at that moment. God, he DESPISED looking vulnerable. Footsteps could be heard, but he could barely hear them over the loud ringing that was getting louder and louder in his ears. The last thing he could hear, loud and clear, — was Kais voice before everything went black.
“Youre okay Jay.. its okay.. just rest for now.”

Cole smashed through every door he saw as he ran in the front. Jay could die. His best friend- his little brother was going to die if he wasnt fast enough. He saw Jays expression when he bust through the last door with all his strength after hearing the blue ninjas screams. It sounded horrible. He felt like it was going to get into his nightmares. His face was as pale as a blank paper, his eyes bloodshot and rolled at the back of his head. It was an image that he would never be able to forget right besides the scream. Kai immediately went to his side with Nya following after. Nya cried his name and all Cole could do was just.. stand there. Jays face had burns and tears on it as well as unwiped tears. Kai scooped him up into his own arms.
“Someone get Master Wu! Ill take him to the emergency room!”
Before anyone could protest, he ran out before Nya, leaving Cole to keep standing there, zoned out. He saw Jays face himself. He could never forget his expression. It was a face of horror, of pleading to be saved. And yet, he still stood there. Unmoving.
All they had wanted was a perfect week.
