"Morning everyone," Ladybug announced before dragging herself into their classroom, hunched over and wearing Marinette's backpack. The superhero yawned incredibly loudly, promptly slumped down into Marinette's seat, and laid her head on her desk, completely unaware that the entire class is staring at her, flabbergasted. Alya and Nino exchanged worried glances before the door to their class was knocked open and Chloé strut in.
"Dupain-L-", Chloé’s voice died in her throat as she gasped at the sight. For what reason? She wasn't sure, but she certainly wouldn't be saying Dupain-Lame like she had planned.
"Uh, cheng."
"Chloé." Ladybug mumbled, head still down on her desk. Chloé’s eyes widened but she said nothing else as she walked to her own seat.
Madame Bustier came in next and stumbled over nothing.
"Is everything alright?" she asked Ladybug who looked up to meet her concerned look.
"Yep, just super tired." Ladybug yawned again. "Long night." She set her head back on her desk prompting Mlle Bustier to clear her throat.
"And you’re sure you're in the right place?"
"Yep" Ladybug replied, enunciating the ‘P’. "My parents thought I should stay home from school but don't worry, I'm good." The entire class stiffened but were too shocked to say anything.
"O-Ok um, class, let's... begin."
"Sorry I'm late!" Chat Noir burst in through the door, startling everyone. "I had a last minute fashion shoot."
"Chat Noir?!” Ladybug shouted. “What are you doing in my classroom? You're not supposed to be here."
"Ladybug?" he looked at her incredulously, prompting her to scoff.
"What are you talking about? Ladybug wouldn't tell you to come see me at school." She glared at him and he stared back, dumbfounded.
After a moment too long she looked down and gasped, horrified.
"OH RIGHT!" Ladybug yelled too loudly. "What I meant to say was that I'm filling in for Marinette today because... because she's sick! Yes! She, uh, asked me to fill in for her. We talked together, Marinette and me, separately, in a separate place. We just talk-"
"Right!" Chat Noir butted in, saving her from her floundering, "And Adrien told me to fill in for him too, that's why I'm here." The blood drained from Ladybug’s face. There was no way that-
"Ok settle down everyone," Mlle Bustier interrupted and both heroes whipped their attention to her. "Ladybug, Chat Noir, I'm sure you have a lot to deal with right now so I can let Alya take notes for both Marinette and Adrien instead if that's ok with you two. Would that be alright Alya?"
"Huh? Oh uh, sure." Alya replied.
"YES! Excellent idea Mlle Bus- ma'am! We’ll head out.” Ladybug grabbed Chat's hand and pulled him towards the door but paused.
Chat Noir was Adrien, she was grabbing Chat's hand which means she was holding Adrien's hand which means-
Heat rose to her face and she dropped his hand in a hurry, deciding to swing out of the window with a quick “Bug out!” instead. Chat Noir, still dumbfounded by the whole exchange, mumbled something about the cat being out of the bag and followed her.
The entire class remained silent, unable to grasp what just happened.
"It was an Akuma!" Ladybug's head popped in through the window she’d just leap through. "Yeah, just some, uh, mind controlling one making me act like Marinette! We're two completely different people!" The whole class continued to stare at her.
A moment passed.
Then two.
"So Ladynoir is cannon." someone commented much louder than they had meant to.
"Oh my gosh!" Ladybug replied, cheeks burning as she swung away.
"Ladynoir cannon?” Chat’s voice sounded in the distance. “What are they talking about my Lady?”
