“Where is everyone?”asked Donald angrily,dialing Scrooge’s number.
‘Probably off on some adventure looking for some obscure treasure or something.’ thought Donald as the phone rang.
‘Hello?’ came Mrs.Beakley’s voice from the other side of the phone.
“Where are you?We’re back from our trip, and nobody’s here!”said Donald angrily.
‘At the hospital.’
“The hospital?!”
‘Yes.’
Donald hung up the phone.
“Donald,what is it?”asked Daisy,seeing the look of horror on Donald’s face.
“Scrooge is in the hospital!”said Donald,getting into the car with Daisy,May, and June following him.
“What?!”said Daisy in shock.
Donald didn’t say anything.He simply drove to the hospital,feeling a mixture of guilt, and confusion.
Why didn’t anyone tell him that Scrooge was admitted into the hospital?Was it because he was traveling with Daisy, and didn’t want to upset his happiness?Maybe he should have stayed until everything with F.O.W.L. was resolved. Why was he so insistent on going on the sea trip with Daisy?! It could have waited!
When they made it to the hospital,Donald rushed in.
“Where’s my uncle?!”Donald demanded from the receptionist.
“What’s your uncle’s name?”asked the receptionist.
“Seriously?! Scrooge! Scrooge McDuck!”yelled Donald.Surely he wasn’t that forgettable.
“I’ll call the doctor.”said the receptionist.
Donald began to pace in anger.He wanted to see Scrooge, and know if he was alright or not.Also,where was the rest of the family?!
“Donald,calm down.”said Daisy,trying to comfort Donald.
“Mr.Duck?”said the doctor when he arrived.
“Come with me.”
Donald,Daisy,May, and June followed the doctor,not knowing what to expect.Daisy hoped that Scrooge was okay, and the reason for his being in the hospital wasn’t all that serious.After all,if it was serious wouldn’t someone call Donald?
“Uncle Scrooge!” screamed Donald when saw Scrooge.
Scrooge was awake, but he was missing an arm,something that shocked Donald,Daisy,May, and June.
“What happened?!Did this happen on an adventure?!”Donald asked Scrooge.
“No. I was talking on the phone with Darkwing about Ferthy when this mad man came in, and attacked me with a chainsaw. He looked somewhat familiar to me.”answered Scrooge.
“Why would Darkwing call you about Fethry?”
“Della discovered that he was missing, and Darkwing found him in St.Canard.Apparently he didn’t look good.”
“Where is Della?”
“She’s in the hospital too.Along with Launchpad,and Dewey.”Mrs.Beakley answered for Scrooge.
“What the hell happened while I was gone?!” yelled Donald,making everyone jump.
“Donald,please.I’m sure Della will have more information.”Daisy told Donald.
“She better.”said Donald as they followed the doctor to Della’s room.
“Hi,Donald!Hi,Daisy!Hi,May,June!”said Della when she saw them.She was apparently well enough to feed herself as she was eating breakfast.
“What happened?!Where is everyone?”Donald asked Della without even asking how she was.
“Wow.Thanks for your concern.”
“Just answer me!”
“Scrooge lost his arm. I don’t know if he’s awake or not-“
“He is.”
“Oh,great!How is he?”
“Just tell me what happened!”
“Negaduck attacked Dewey-“
“Negaduck?Who’s Negaduck?”
Donald suddenly felt guilty again.Was Negaduck a new villain that the family had a hard time defeating?Or one that was waiting for him to leave to strike?
“Jim Starling.”said Della.
“I thought he died.”said Donald,remembering the news story.
“So did we, and stop interrupting!But it turned out he was just waiting for the right time to attack.He was hiding in the sewers,making his plans.First he attacked Uncle Scrooge, then Dewey, then Launchpad, who arrived while I was fighting him, and after he attacked me, he ran off to St.Canard.”
“But where’s Webby?and Louie?”asked Donald.From what he got Della’s story,they were they, and Huey were the only ones who escaped Negaduck’s wrath.But Huey was at the hospital, and they weren’t.
“I told Webby to go St.Canard to tell Darkwing about Negaduck, and Louie to go to Uncle Gladstone. I don’t know why either one of them are here.”said Huey.
Donald left the room.If he knew Webby,then she probably got caught up in fighting Negaduck, and got hurt.He can visit her later.It’ll also be a good way to find out more about Fethry.But why Gladstone, and Louie weren’t here,he didn’t know.But Donald was going to find out.

Emilie, and Gladstone both decided it was a good idea for Louie to stay the night with Gladstone.Emilie even decided to spend the night to make it easier for Louie.Which was why it was she who was making breakfast while Gladstone, and Louie slept.
And the reason why she was the one who answered Gladstone’s phone when Donald called.
“Hello?”said Emilie when she answered the phone.
‘Who is this?!’ yelled Donald at the other end.
“Emilie.Emilie Duckman.Who are you?”
‘Donald Duck!Gladstone’s cousin!What are you doing on his phone?!’
“He,and Louie are still asleep,so I decided to make breakfast for them.I’m making omelets.Then you called, and I answered the phone.”
‘Well,wake him up!’
“No need.He’s awake.”said Emilie,handing the phone to Gladstone.
“Hello?”said Gladstone into the phone.
‘Who’s Emilie?!Are you even aware that Scrooge,Dewey,Launchpad, and Della are in the hospital?!Are you aware that Fethry’s been missing?!’ Donald yelled at Gladstone so loudly that Emilie could hear him.
“Don,calm down. I’m aware that Scrooge,Dewey,Launchpad, and Della are in the hospital.Louie told me, and Emilie.We reported what happened to the police.That was Emilie’s idea.And yes, I know that Fethry’s missing.Della told me. And Emilie’s my girlfriend.We met online.”Gladstone told Donald.
‘Then why aren’t you at the hospital?!’
“Louie didn’t want to go.”
‘Well,come to the hospital!’
“But my omelets.”said Emilie.
“And Louie isn’t awake yet.”said Gladstone.
“I’m awake! Do I smell omelets?”said Louie.
“Donald’s on the phone.”said Gladstone,handing his phone to Louie.
“Hey,Uncle Donald!”said Louie with a smile.
While he was happy with Uncle Gladstone,and was happy to get to know Emilie better(he was even beginning to call her Aunt Emilie),he felt comfort that Uncle Donald was back.It made him feel that everything was going okay.
‘Why didn’t you come to the hospital after talking to the police?’ Donald asked Louie,trying to keep his temper in check.
“I-didn’t want to.”
‘Oh.Okay.Well,you come when you’re ready.’
“How is everyone?”
‘Scrooge,and Della are alive, and awake. I haven’t asked about Dewey, and Launchpad.’
“Okay.We’ll go to the hospital after breakfast.”said Louie before handing the phone back to Gladstone.

“Yeah.See you soon.”said Donald in a grumpy voice before hanging up the phone.
“So?”asked Daisy in a nervous voice. She thought their return home would be joyous,not stressful.
“Gladstone,Louie,and Emilie will be here after breakfast.”said Donald as they walked back to Della’s room.
“That’s what I want to know.”
“Who’s Emilie?”Donald asked Della,and Huey when he, and Daisy returned to Della’s room.
“Gladstone’s girlfriend! She owns her restaurant!”said Della.
“And she likes Italian cuisine!Lena,Violet, and I saw them together on a date at Duckburg Ritz Restaurant when we were trying to capture Phantom Blot, and Pepper!She stopped Pepper from killing Violet!”said Huey in excitement.
“I invited her over for dinner, and she made these cookies. I forgot the name, but they were so good!”added Della.
Daisy couldn’t help but feel a little insecure. She thought she had fit in with Donald’s family.But hearing Della,who tried to strangle her after finding out that she, and Donald were going on a sea adventure,and Huey praise Emilie made Daisy wonder if she actually did.Or maybe she should’ve spent more time with the family before leaving.Either way, it didn’t seem like Daisy fit in with the family as well as she thought she did.
“We’re going to check on Dewey, and Launchpad.”said Donald,picking up on Daisy’s uncomfortableness.

Gladstone,Emilie, and Louie arrived at the hospital around 10:30,much to the frustration of Donald, who expected them to come earlier.
“We had to get dressed.”said Emilie after Donald told them this.
“I suppose you’re Emilie?”Donald said to Emilie.
“Yes.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”said Daisy,holding out her hand for Emilie to shake,which Emilie did.
“How is everyone?”Gladstone asked Donald.
“Fine.”Donald said.He was still upset that it took Gladstone,Emilie, and Louie a while to get to the hospital.
“What about Fethry?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t been to St.Canard yet.”
“What do you mean you haven’t been to St.Canard yet?!Why haven’t you gone to St.Canard yet?!”
“I was waiting for you to arrive!”
“Well,I’m here!What’s stopping you?!”
“Guys,guys!Please!Calm down! I have an idea!How about when everyone gets out of the hospital,we have a party?Like,a reunion/celebration party?”said Daisy.
“I don't like large gatherings.”said Emilie.
“Well,I like it.”said Donald.If Emilie didn’t like it,then Donald liked it.
“But Emilie said she doesn’t like large gatherings.”said Gladstone.
“It’ll just be a small party.”reassured Daisy.
“Okay. I guess.”said Emilie softly.
“Good.Now that you’re here we can go to St.Canard.”said Donald.
“You know,I feel a bit guilty about throwing a party when Emilie said she doesn’t like large gatherings.”Daisy said to Donald.
“Pahooey!She’ll get over it!”Donald told Daisy.
“I hope so.”
