“Where have you been?” He was out on her porch, looking disappointed. She’d been so sure that the dryads hadn’t noticed, but she had forgotten about the annoying sun god, constantly on her back.
“Places.”
“Doing what?”
No point lying to the truth god, “Drinking. Smoked some weed.” She scratched her nose, “Are you going to give me the D.A.R.E. presentation now?”
He sighed heavily, “We can talk about that tomorrow. You didn’t tell anyone where you were going?”
“They wouldn’t have let me go.”
He sighed again, “Tell me, Meg. I want you to be safe.”
