SSN 4 Ep 13 – Fight or Flight
“Okay so what is Cupcake?” Tim asks when he and Lucy get in the shop to head out to help animal control.
“Cupcake is an alligator,” she replies.
“An alligator?” he questions.
“Yes, an alligator, a very big, aggressive alligator,” she explains.
“Did Cupcake have something to do with your little copter-kid quest?” he asks.
“Yes, turns out Cupcake’s owner was dealing fentanyl with the help of mom’s new boyfriend,” she explains.
“I see,” he says still not fully onboard, “wait is that why I saw your request form for a new Taser?” he asks taking is eyes off the road for a second to look at Lucy.
“Yes,” she answers a little embarrassed, “she ate it!” she says.
“You let an alligator eat your Taser?” he asks in a tone that suggests he thinks it’s hilariously absurd.
“I didn’t let her,” Lucy argues, “I Tased her and then she ate it before I could get it back,” she says.
“Sure, of course,” Tim says.
“You’ll believe once you see her, trust me, It’s probably still in her,” Lucy warns. “Besides, I heard you bribed officers with gift cards today,” she smirks changing the subject.
“Maybe, but it’s a great incentive to motivate people,” he says.
“Sure, if you actually reward them with it. Why did you never offer me a gift card during my training?” she asks wondering what made her different than other officers that he’s worked with.
“I do reward them, it just so happens the dog was the winner of today’s efforts, and I never bribed you with a gift card because I know you’d rather get verbal recognition, or some stupid trophy,” he says with a smirk, “like the one you made for you and Nolan,” he adds with a teasing tone.
“What? I happen to like a good trophy,” she says smiling.
“Noted,” Tim replies.
