"I'm leaving, dad! I'm going to pick up Jackson and Ron”
"Have a good first day at school!”
Exer smiled and closed the door behind him. The sun falling on it was refreshing, a cool morning breeze, after all it was only 7:30 am. He climbed into his red convertible, fastening his seatbelt and starting the engines to move forward.
He moved his rearview mirror slightly, seeing her amber gaze in the reflection; an excited look for the start of the school year
Needless to say, Exer's school life has been great from start to finish; full of friends and memorable experiences. He wouldn't change anything If he was given the option, Exer had the perfect life
The music on the radio cheered up his state even more, their favorite songs were playing. Exer hummed the lyrics of almost all of them until he arrived at his best friends' house.
Ron was an exchange student and Jackson's family took him in the previous school year, they became good friends ever since.
Exer honked his car horn twice in succession, and it didn't take long for Jackson and Ron to get out. Ron ate raspberries and Jackson kept some in his backpack.
They both wore the football team's jacket, just like Exer.
"Guys! It's good to see you again”
"Come on, we saw each other a week ago”
"It felt like an eternity anyway, I know you felt that way too”
Jackson rolled his eyes with a smile, silently agreeing with Exer. He got into the car and sat in the passenger seat. Ron nodded to Exer and sat in the back seats. Exer returned to Jeans High
“Man, I can't believe we're seniors now, time passed really fast”
"Definitely, we have to make this year the most memorable of all” Exer responded motivated “I don't know about you, but I have a great feeling."
“Yeah! Me too...."
Ron—who remained silent— and Exer knew something was wrong by his tone of voice.
“Is something worrying you?”
"....I think I'm too obvious” Jackson sighed "I don't know, but since I woke up today, I felt like something was going to be...different this year”
"Maybe it's nostalgia. It's our last year after all."
"Ron's right, and to be honest, it makes me a little sad too”
Exer stopped at the traffic light, fixing his gaze on the red light for a few seconds
"But do not worry! Just because it's our last year doesn't mean the adventures end here, you won't get rid of me that easy, Smith!”
"Not even from me”
The statement from his two friends made Jackson laugh lightly "I know, thanks. I feel better now”
"That's the attitude! We don't want to start the day on the wrong foot”
The red light turned green and Exer quickly stepped on the accelerator
"This year will be incredible, you have my word!”
Jackson smiled at Exer, but despite everything, the feeling was still there. He just hoped it wasn't anything bad.

After at least five minutes they arrived at the school, which was waiting for them with a large sign saying "Welcome back!" hanging in the entrance. Exer got out of the car, smiling as always. The greetings from the people around him did not wait, after all, he was the most popular guy in Jeans High.
The group of friends entered the school, receiving even more greetings and friendly laughter from the students. The atmosphere was very good
"Finally, my locker” Jackson dropped his backpack, opening his locker door and then sighing "I brought ALL my books so I wouldn't have to carry anything later, you don't know how heavy this thing was this morning”
"I can imagine it, although I don't think that would have really been necessary. This week is introductory, we won't have really serious classes”
"Don't judge my methods! I can see you complaining about carrying giant, heavy books in a few days”
"You wish”
Suddenly, the front door opened loudly, drawing the attention of the people around it, including Ron, Jackson, and Exer. The latter looked quite confused, automatically noticing the reason for everyone's nascent murmurs.
They were two people, a boy and a girl with a really striking aesthetic.
The one on the left was a short red-haired girl; Her hair was fluffy and long and her eyes were bright and ruby red. She was totally attractive, and the black makeup on her face gave her a special touch.
And to the right, a blonde boy with sharp and confident ruby-colored eyes. He wore black makeup on his eyes and a cross earring in his left ear.
They were a totally attractive duo in many ways
Both walked at a steady pace through the hallways, earning the harassing and confused looks of the students
«It looks like they are going to a funeral»
«Who are they? I never saw them around here»
«That girl's hair looks like a bush»
«That guy sure is gay, he's wearing eyeshadow!»
«I don't want them to come near me, they're scary!»
And the good atmosphere went to hell
"We really attract attention, huh?”
The boy rolled his eyes at his sister's words. “We haven't even been here five minutes and I already want to leave, this is bullshit”
"Up that moods! You can't always be guided by first appearances."
"I wish everyone here could hear that”
Exer couldn't take his eyes off the blonde boy, he was strangely attractive, quite attractive to be honest. There was something about it that kept him from looking away
And this was noticed by the strange guy, Who, when he passed by him, fixed his gaze on Exer's; his gaze showed anger and distrust, Exer wasn't a genius at reading people, but it was obvious that this boy wasn't comfortable with his gaze.
With anyone's gaze in the hallway
And he didn't blame him, it was strange that someone would stare at you as intently as he was doing. And it was even more understandable when you could hear the somewhat offensive comments from everyone there
Exer felt that both of them were looking at each other for several minutes, but in reality it was the short seconds in which the duo took to pass by his side.
“Now I understand why I had a weird feeling this morning….”
"I've never seen them around here, what about you, Exer?”
Exer did not respond, he continued watching the intimidating boy get further and further away.
“Exer?”
Ron's voice took him out of his mind "O-Oh yeah! I've never seen them, isn't it strange?"
"Completely! And I would totally know if I've seen them anywhere else”
"Yes, I must ask them where they buy their clothes. They look amazing” Jackson chuckled at the fascination in the taller boy's voice.
"I forgot you also wear alternative clothes”
Ever totally ignored her friends' chatter behind his back, he was totally intrigued by the new duo in school
That school year will be interesting
