“Jere, please! Look at him. Look at his floppy ears and his soft little belly.”
"Yes, look very familiar."
"Dunno what you mean. He's so cute!"
“We are never home.”

“Our family can help!”
“If they want dog they can get dog.”
“Look him in the eyes and tell him you don’t want him.”
“I look at you enough. Sad puppy eyes do nothing for me.”
“If that was true, we wouldn’t even be here.”
"Here? At dog shelter?"
"No, here. Us. Together."
"Oh."
"Forget it."
“...fine. Real dog eyes do nothing for me.”
“So, if it’s me who looks at you like that…”
“Nope. Not working. You have too many clothes.”

“No! I don’t want you in tabloid again.”
“Ugh, fine, I'll wait until we're home."
"Yes, I think everyone here appreciate that."

“I’ll walk him every morning, I promise! You can always sleep in.”
“Exactly what Mikke’s kids said. I know those lies!”

“No. I know it will be me in the rain, in November, waiting for that monster to piss.”
“I’ll let you name him.”
“Ok, his name is now BOJAN WE WILL NOT GET DOG.”

“–-to be adopted by some other people who will absolutely not love him like we could love him, who will probably mistreat him and not scratch him the way he loves to be scratched and their kids won’t even play with him like ours would and–-”
