Chapter Text
The morning of October 31 has risen in the demon world, the demon king Derkila sleeping comfortably in his bed dreaming about the ways he could mess with his administrator Sullivan, maybe make a new type of bug that would love the silver Sully’s tableware is made out of or make holes in his uniform so that he could mess around without being interrupted by the only person that can punish him.
“Derkila-sama wake up” Lord Sullivan knocked on the giant golden door before coming into Derkila’s room and standing next to the huge bed.
“Five more minutes…” The king said, rolling onto his other side and facing away from his servant.
“You said it 5 minutes ago, come on...” Sullivan said disappointed before picking up a cup next to Derkila’s bed preparing to toss it on him ,fearing just that as Derkila is in his most vulnerable state The king changed from half sleeping to standing up real quick.
“Okay okay, you don't need to threaten me.” Derkila shouted annoyed while grabbing Sullivan and putting him outside so that he could change in peace.
After a minute or 2, Derkila left his room and headed over to his office, Sullivan following him close behind to make sure he did his daily duties.
“Why can't I just make someone do these for me?” The king asked while poking his servant to simply annoy him.
“That person is not the demon king and their decisions do not affect the whole netherworld”
…
“I hate you” Derkila said with pure hatred which quickly went away.
“We all love you too, my king.”
After arriving at the chamber, The king sighed in despair at the pile of papers on the desk that was prepared carefully by Beelzebub for him.
Taking a quick look at the papers there seems to be a huge increase in demons missing and resources as well as a large growth in numbers of portals created between the human world and hell.
“Sully, tell me what am I supposed to do with this?” Derkila threw the stack of papers into a trash can and it started digesting them “This is happening every year! I made sure to restrict portal making magic as much as possible and you know that!”
Sullivan scratched his chin before shrugging.
“This seems to be an outside issue, this has been happening since the dawn of Satan”
Derkila leaned back in his chair thinking about solutions like he does every year now.
“How about I go to the human realm-”
“Absolutely Not” Sullivan cut Derkila off “And no, kidnapping humans is a no go”
Derkila frowned mumbling something under his breath, it was probably really offensive but he went back to thinking.
“This is stupid”
“I am aware sir, the demon king before you thought the same”
The silence continued as there was nothing more to do since Derkila destroyed the paperwork
“You can finish it later. I will bring your breakfast here while I get someone to contact the Vallac family to restore the papers” Sullivan sighed and headed out before side-eyeing Derkila one last time making sure he wasn't doing anything stupid or leaving the room.
“nghghghh ” Derkila mumbled, was happy to not be watched 24/7 by a balding man.
“No problem…” Sullivan replied before officially walking away
Derkila was left there thinking about what to do once again, both ways of doing it were declined by the only person who could decline his commands, he didn't want to get scolded for leaving the room and finding someone to go to the human world to him… maybe he will ask Sully about this later...
Derkila closed his eyes to think and when he opened them thinking that Sullivan had come back he didn't see him, it wasn't even his office… 2 people were staring straight at him while the king’s half was stuck in a glowing circle with 5 candles on the edges in a random plain room.
The awkwardness is so thick that even the whole existence of Amaryllis Asmodeus can't compare to it.
One of them was a guy with short dark grayish-blue hair and the other was a woman with straight long light blue hair, besides the hair color nothing seemed demonic about them, their ears were not pointy so were their teeth and iris and lack of horns or even wings seem to confirm what Derkila is thinking about.
“Did I just get kidnapped?” Derkila thought out loud panicking about becoming a humans servant or their food or literally anything for human use.
“Do you do deals?” The man asked after deciding on right word with hope.
“A what now?” Derkila is still under major shock.
“Like souls, you like souls right?” the woman asked as hopeful as the guy next to her.
“Do you mean like the whole person?” The king asked now curious, he heard in myths that human meat has power-giving abilities and if he got his hand on a human maybe he could finally beat up Sully with it.
“Yes, we would like 6,864,258,500 Yen for our son” The woman replied with the happiest voice a demon can imagine, it's a bit concerning not gonna lie…
“For your son?” Derkila was shocked processing the number and the fact they were selling their son.
“Oh, Is one person not enough? Maybe we could pick up a homeless person from the slums or a couple more homeless people?”
Derkila was thinking about just lowering his knees and going back down there where people wouldn't sell him their children but he decided to go for it.
“Oh no, no no no it's just that I have no idea what your yen is…” He paused “I can get you some gold tough”
“You got yourself a deal mate!” The man took the king's hand and started shaking it.
Derkila snapped his fingers and created a contract.
"Just sign here and remember, I do not take refunds and there is no way of getting your son back-”
“DONE!” Both probably husband and wife signed the contract not even reading it with happiness and excitement.
Derkila is now rethinking his life choices but he exits the portal and snaps his finger making the whole room fill with all types of gold and jewellery as both humans start laughing maniacally and playing with the riches.
Derkila was as concerned as he was before but now he had a mission to find that human child and do it before Sully comes back with his breakfast to find he is gone.
