Mapicc ended up sitting on the chair at the end, him and his teammates actually did it against all odds. They banned Captain, Redd and 4CVIT. Jumper doesn’t know how she got here, she doesn’t know where anyone is. Minute is probably trying to kill Zam, Pentar betrayed the other three so he also is there. That’s what she guesses.
But she’s not focused on that. She’s focused on the ground, where blood drapes on her feet. Looking down at someone she betrayed two months before to get into Abyss. God, she hated looking at his cold body. It reminds her of what happened two months ago, flashing in her mind like a cold blanket over her. Her heart drops in her stomach, she was 30 seconds late. If she just got here earlier. Then 4CVIT wouldn’t be staring at her with cold eyes that refuse to look away, he’d be cheering and smiling that they won. She’s stuck to the ground, the blood on her feet making it heavy. Hard to walk. Or maybe it's the void finally here to collect the heart that she avoided losing because she betrayed.
Betrayed for Minute, the only person she trusts now that her duo is gone. Purple hair ribbon all of a sudden feeling noticeable and scratchy against her hair. She thinks she's loyal, that’s what she wants. And somehow through every universe that flashes in her dreams she's teamed with Minute, even if told to betray him with Pentar and Wemmbu. She didn’t. Why did she not? Was it because he has been her ally since the start? Because he wants peace just like her? Maybe because their dynamic is similar to the Sun and Moon, she doesn’t see it. But even Zam says they do so she just nods her head along and smiles. But she wonders, how can someone like her be the sun to Minute. She’s betrayed, killed, lied, and all in all failed at being the ally someone like Minute deserves.
Her eyes glossed over lifts off the body of a cold ally, staring at the red sky with cobwebs and bullet casings all around her. She doesn’t want to fail again, she doesn’t want chaos. So she’ll do something about the chaos. Even if Minute disagrees, if It'll prove that she is loyal, that she is loyalty as a person. Then maybe all the deaths will be worth it. Before she can take more than four embarrassingly hard steps away from the dead body behind her she gets a ping from her communicator. “Zam is heading your way” were the word’s that gave her an idea. The whole reason that Zam, Bacon and Mapicc became so cruel is because she betrayed them, two months of lies and deceit. She feels like throwing up. How could she be loyalty. She just wanted peace, so she turned her back on people she could’ve been friends with still. But before she could think anymore the sound of an elytra unequipping behind her made her go face to face with a disturbingly smiley Zam.
“JumperWho! Best friend, how’s your day been? Mine’s been GREAT!” Zam’s smile continues to get wider as he laughs like a weirdo. He really mastered the Joker laugh just because he was evil, because of her. “I’m surprised you’re not right behind Minute! I mean you are like a lapdog to him. He says the rules and things to do and you just follow!” Jumper wants to deny it but she knew he spoke some truth, she wasn’t good at PvP making Minute drop her things when she's low, making him run over to her when she’s in trouble for her mistakes, heck. If she messaged Minute right now where she was he’d drop everything to go to her, how cruel of her. How can she be loyalty if she can’t even fight without help.
“I got more than ten hearts today! I thought I’d come over and thank you for contributing to failing your teammates! I mean, the prime example is right in front of both of us' ' he gestures to 4CVIT’s corpse. Why isn’t he respawning, please just respawn so she doesn’t have to face what she has done. “Unfortunately that had to happen, but really who’s fault is that. Your’s or mine”. Oh, her throat is clogged with what feels to be her heavy heart. Did she really cause that to happen? Because of her?... because.. .of her?
“Zam, you came here to ban me once and for all right..” Her voice is so quiet, and raspy from the screaming. She can’t even hear it and is surprised Zam can hear it. Though she probably has hearing issues after the guns. Bullets wiring close to her ears and constant shooting in small spaces made the shots too loud for her liking.
“Woah, genius as always Jumper! Would’ve never guessed that after what I just explained to you.” Zam rolls his eyes but she can’t care anymore, before anyone can breathe she jumps to speak once more. Louder this time with desperation.
“If you ban me, will you stop hurting others? You have issues with me, not Minute, not Pentar, not Mid. Not anyone you killed today.”
“I wouldn’t fully agree with that.. But banning you would be super worth it! You’re really annoying you know that. Always following Minute like a dog, so fine. In exchange for your life we’ll leave everyone else alone!” Jumper didn’t trust it fully. But what else did she get out of this, this is how she gets her closure. If she caused the others pain and fear then she would be repaid that pain tenfold. “Don’t wanna stall anymore! C’mon Jumper withdraw your hearts, I feel so nice because I’m already twenty I’ll let you put them in your e-chest. They won’t have to be used anymore at all if we are at peace once you finally leave” he was right, what use did her hearts do. Dirty and stained with invisible blood she pockets 19 hearts in a shulker from her e-chest and turns around heavily and slowly
Zam simply smiles and skips too where she stood, she quickly moves to meet him halfway. Zam’s eyes widened a bit, probably think’s shes so eager to die. Just before Zam slides the sword clean through her throat the voice of her most trusted ally. The true sun, Minute. “Woah woah woah, what's happening here..” he looked at the armorless Jumper with her glossed over eyes and the singular heart on her wrist showing her heart for the world to see. His eyes widen with worry, though Zam doesn’t see it. He didn’t spend as much time with Minute as Jumper did, at this point she probably can name off all of his habits on the top of her head. But his worried eyes make her want to crawl into a hole and hide, never to be seen.
“Oh! Jumper was just being so nice and offering her life to us as a teammate, since y’know you lost.” The lie falls out of Zam’s mouth so natural and clean that even Jumper may question if she’s betraying if she didn’t know the actual situation. She see’s Minutes eye’s close a little bit as he shifts his hand to his back getting ready to fight
“I’m afraid I cannot just believe that Zam.” Jumper is disgusted that Minute has some form of trust in her, that he doesn’t accept what Zam speaks. Maybe because even when giving false evidence in an alternate world she still wanted to trust him, she didn’t betray him in the end. The thought gives her a headache, how could Minute, the one who people fear because he’s quiet and an amazing fighter trusts her loyalty so much. The thought makes her vision spin, she can’t tell if it’s because she’s going to pass out because she stopped breathing or because of tears threatening to fall out of her eyes.
“If I die here, then it’ll stop. Their goal is to end my life, not your’s.” Jumper can’t even look Minute in the eyes, choosing to stare at Zam as he glances at her with a smile so sweet that makes her teeth feel rotten and sticky from the idea of Zam being satisfied. Jumper can’t see it but if she can guess Minute is confused, he always has been confused. He trusted Wemmbu so many times and always gets betrayed, but then teams up with him again. And when the betrayal hits he just wants answers, what he did wrong. She wonders if Minute would do the same with her teaming up over and over no matter what happens. A part of her doesn’t want that to happen, because that would mean he’s oblivious to her rotten heart.
As the red sky shifts with the sun slightly rising the shade covers Jumper and Zam, Minute standing in the light a few feet away on a small hill. “Well that’s sweet and all, but I got things to do sooo” Zam drawls out, getting impatient and raising his sword. Minute tries to move fast enough but he is 30 seconds too late as the blood from her neck explodes into the sights of the world, her body crumpling to the ground with no movement. She can hear brief fighting but not well, maybe those gunshots did more hearing damage than she thought originally. Or it’s the blood gushing out of her throat having her choke and gurgle as she tries to breath. Why is she trying? She doesn’t want to die. But she doesn’t want to make her allies, her friends, or family suffer anymore. She can feel someone holding onto her neck trying to get her into a position to not choke but also to keep the bleeding to a stop. The hand’s are warm, too warm. Her eyes moved unwillingly, looking up as best she could to see who was there. Who was trying to keep someone as tainted as her alive.
Minute. Of course it is, the one person she could trust after everything happening. Breathing gets too hard for her to do, heaving trying to gasp air last minute. She wants to live. Minute ever so carefully hugs her growing cold body, she thinks she can feel him shaking. Possibly crying, crying over her. She wants to hug him back, her longest ally. Her best friend, but she can’t move paralyzed to the ground. She doesn’t want to leave Minute alone to fight, she knows he has what’s left of the server on his side. But she selfishly wants to believe he trusts her the most. That she is what Minute defines as loyalty. Jumper didn’t know, she was blind and she admits to being a little naive sometimes. But she doesn’t know the extent of Minutes' trust in her, and never will. She’ll never learn that he would cause Zam the same pain and fear she faced everyday, tenfold. Thats was a promise.
Maybe in another universe, Minute can finally tell her that she defines loyalty from then on. Every teammate compared to see if they were as loyal as her.
