Summary
When Big takes those bullets for Porsche in the warehouse, he fully accepts sacrificing his life. While Big's feelings for Porsche are lukewarm at best, he makes the decision to save his life knowingly. He is okay with dying if it means Kinn can finally be happy with someone he loves.
Even if that person isn't Big. But it was never going to be Big. Big knows that now.
He just doesn't know how he survived. He also doesn't know why he is starting to feel like his love for Kinn seems as if it is fading, all while a strange friendship develops in its place. What's even more strange is the flutter in his chest whenever Chan comes to the infirmary to care for him, which is every single night. The time spent with Chan shows Big a different side to him, one that is softer and more skeptical towards the job they have signed their entire selves to. But with the crippling freedom Big's injuries have now given him, he finally has the time to focus on what he actually wants.
He just needs to figure out what that is first.
