The walk along the beach was long and the talk that they had felt like it would go on for hours but honestly, Lucy was fine with it being this way. Especially after not seeing Natsu and Happy in forever, it was great to have time to spend with them.
Lucy giggled and watched Natsu lean in close to take another bite out of her vanilla ice cream.
Happy flew over their heads and smiled at the two of them. “So, you became a news reporter after we left?”
“Yeah,” She sighed, pulling out a bag filled with jewels with her other hand before putting it back in her pocket. “I didn’t have much of a choice anyway. But it looks like… It’s still not enough.”
Natsu swallowed the ice cream and then put an arm around Lucy, startling her. She, in turn, took his free hand and held it subtly before blushing lightly. “But it sucks, doesn’t it? Everyone just… left the guild.”
“Well, that’s what happens after a war. I mean, I’m still shocked that Levi and Gajeel got married.”
“They’re married?! Are you serious?!”
“They’re married?! Since when?!”
It seems like some things never change with these two… but that’s okay, she never wanted that to happen.
