Summary
Ike and Kyle were motherless. She had died a few years ago due to medical negligence in not detecting or properly curing cancer... They had both assumed the death of her mother... But not their father.
Gerald had an old typewriter, that was where Ike had to do his school work when his father grounded him without his computer. Kyle hated that machine with all his heart, he hated the sound it made...
One day, the police gathered in front of the door of that house... Witnesses weren't surprised to see so many cars, but rather to see an ambulance in which someone was trying to apply first aid. He was an old man, perhaps close to his 50s, and he had an air mask and many bandages on his bloody head...
The problem was not his severity, it was the lack of breathing and the high-pitched beeping of the machine that didn't do anything more than confirming the obvious...
He had died...
