Chapter Text
The team had huddled up in the meeting room, all in their own seats as they waited for miss Pauling to come and start discussing what this sudden meeting was all about.
Scout had just finished getting himself neat and tidy as he can ever be, since, well, miss Pauling was gonna be there, so he for sure was gonna try to charm her up.
Spy was by the corner, smoking his cigarette quietly. Demoman was—somehow—sober. propping himself up in his chair and sitting properly for the first time in what felt like, forever.
Soldier was pacing back and forth in an anxious manner, Pyro was doodling next to Scout, Engineer was next to Pyro, looking over at them as the older folk complimented their drawing. Heavy and Medic were silently talking to each other.
and Sniper. He was here. Scout doesn’t really see him much, only when there are important team meetings and such, as we as the bread tumor accident. It was, strange.
Miss Pauling then walked through the door with folders in her hands, and just before Soldier could enthusiastically yell, the young woman smiled at him.
“Yes, hello Soldier. Everyone is here, I assume.”
she huddled everyone up and opened the folder for them all to see, placing it on the table so everyone could take a look. Spy walked closer to them and peeked.
”Vhat is all zhis? Do we have to kill someone?” Medic asked, his confusion then making way to excitement. Miss Pauling nodded.
”Yes, this here is our target. George Schuyler. One of the most richest men here in Teufort. A father of one daughter, and a widower.” She explained, shooting looks to Scout, telling him no.
”And why’d we need to kill this fellar? He doesn’t look like he’d done anythin’.” Engineer questioned with a light tone.
”Great question, Engie! This man plants drugs into his competitors. Huge companies that aren’t held by BLU or RED. We are still figuring out how, but we know for sure that he is planning to target Redmond.”
It was a simple mission, and the team snickered amongst themselves at how east this mission was.
”Then why’re ya actin’ like this is a hard mission, miss P?” Scout inquired, raising his hand to speak. Miss Pauling sighed.
”George is not an easy man to locate. He rarely goes out for any social events, and when he does, it is only for his daughter, Bettany Schuyler.”
She pulled out a photo of a young woman with curly brown hair that was long enough to reach her shoulder blades. She wore a polka dot dress and high heels.
”Bettany is currently 22 years old, she is rather young. And for this mission, we need to get to Bethany to get to her father.”
The team looked at Scout when miss Pauling said that the girl was only 22 years old. “Wait- wait, wait, wait. Me??” He exclaimed in a confused manner.
”She said young, lad. You’re the most youngest of all of us.” Demoman grinned and took a sip of his scrumpy.
Miss Pauling cleared her throat to grab everyone’s attention, and it worked. She continued.
”Scout, there is another thing you have to know.” She paused, “Bethany only associates herself with fine young women, only a few men hang around with her. You know what this means, right?”
The team snickered a bit and it took tine for the young Bostonian to process this information given to him.
Then realization struck him.
”Oh no— I ain’t dressin’ up as no broad! Miss Pauling, please.” He begged, blushing profusely at the thought of even putting on a dress.
”I’m sorry Scout. But you have to do it. Or else you know the administrator will fire you.”
He couldn’t get fired. He’s trying to help his folks back home. He needs this high paying job. And he’d do anything to help his family out. “Fine.” He sighed, “I’ll do it.”
