    Julian is on the run. It's only been a few days since the count's death and he doesn't remember what he'd done. The guilt he bears because of the plague victims, made him confess to the murder, but there is an uncertainty, so he decides to get out of Vesuvia. But before he manages to do that, he almost gets cornered by the palace's guard, the only escape being a stranger's home.
