It was a rather ordinary morning, your eyes adjusting to the harsh sunlight suddenly blasted in your face. You raise your hand to shield yourself and managed to get your stiff body to move, albeit with protest.
You didn't want to leave the comfortable bed, the fluffy blankets calling your name and your mind still groggy from waking up. But a delicious scent wafted into your nose and you recognized it immediately, breakfast food. You also noticed Jing Yuan vanished from his spot in the bed, normally you would awaken to his warm body pressing into you but not this time.
You put on some slippers and hurried downstairs, where he was wearing an apron and very focused on the food. He plucked bacon off the pan with tongs and set the grease-soaked strips carefully on a paper towel, where they would be drained. A stack of pancakes sat on the dining table, drizzled in maple syrup and glistening with a slab of butter on the top. A few glasses of orange juice were scattered about, overflowing too. Your stomach rumbled at the sight and you quietly tiptoed to the kitchen.
As soon as he turned off the stove and set the pan down, you snuck up behind him with a hug from behind, earning a surprised chuckle from him.
"Such a hard worker." You teased lightly, keeping your grip tight. You really did not want to let go of this moment.
"Anything for you." He kissed on you on the forehead, causing your face to turn hot and your heartbeat to speed up.
"Oh you." You swooned before sitting down and waiting for him to finish up, finally he wandered over and took his seat, giving you a dazzling smile.
"I must say this is the most pleasant way to start the day." You giggled as you dug into the food, wolfing it down.
"Why not try something new for today?" He grinned then took his share of the food.
Both of you ate together in comfortable silence, when it was time for both of your respective works, you gave each other hugs and left the house feeling energized.
Needless to say, you and him had a very lovely rest of your day.
