Midoriya Izuku was honestly accustomed to rude whispers and side glances when he went out with more than one of his partners. He was a very affectionate person, and as such liked to cling rather closely to his lovers, which gathered more attention than it should have, really. It’s the twenty-third century, hello ?! Why are japanese people still so hung up on the idea of men dating men, and on top of that dating in bigger groups than two was still mind boggling for him. It is what it is, he always told himself when older couples shied away from them on the sidewalk.
He did have a secret favorite reaction though – he loved it when well-meaning citizen noticed him with one of his partners walk into a supermarket (and they always notice, it's almost a rule at this point) and then spied him with another partner who was running late or came after them because he parked the car. Because those little snitches were the most entertainment they could get in such public places.
Sometimes, when he was lucky enough, Izuku would be standing in front of a row of cereals or something equally ridiculous, busy reading the labels and looking for the best option for their household, and then suddenly a person would materialize at his side.
“Hey, I uh… I saw you come in with this guy, with bright red hair, red eyes, and the cool Dwarfs Dig Holes hoodie? Is he by any chance uh, your like, partner or something?” A young teenage girl, probably no older than fourteen, asked him one time, and despite his surprise, he nodded with a confused smile.
“Yeah, that’s Kiri. We have been together for a while now actually.” He responded with a blinding smile.
“Oh, fuck, I mean that’s great! Or it was. I don’t know, I’m pretty sure I just saw him kiss a dude a few rows down?” She blurted out quickly, then tried to hide her wince. “Sorry, I’m just…”
“Hey, no worries. What did the guy look like?” Izuku inquired, already thinking about all the possibilities, there were quite many in the relationship, and Kiri was close to basically all of them. The true question was, who was in the neighborhood at this time?
“Uh, blonde hair, all black clothes, chunky Doc Martens’ too I think.” She listed, shifting awkwardly from one foot from the other. She was probably freaking out a bit inside, and seeing how uncomfortable the highschooler seemed, he just waved her concern away.
“Yeah, don’t worry about it. That’s Bakugou, and both me and Kiri are dating him.” He couldn't resist to wink at the stunned girl one last time before whirling around, grabbing four more boxes of the cereal he had been studying before this conversation, and headed a few rows down to find his lovers.
If Izuku was being honest, his favorite hobby was acting like he did not, in fact, have nine boyfriends, who dated each other as well for the most part. It really made his day sometimes, when he could act like a heartbroken little sweetpea who just caught the love of his life cheating.
A few times, if he was believable enough, he even got a bag of candy or a box of ice cream he could later share with the guys.
