“If I ever got proposed to, I’d like it to happen in my Rick Owens’ heels, but if I’m doing the proposing, it would be in Jordan 1’s.”Seojun says continuing the random conversation he was having with Jookyung about the proposal of the couple they had walked past while shopping at the pier. Seojun doesn't remember this conversation, he has no reason to, Suho had never mentioned anything about marriage yet and neither had he.
Seojun had invited Jookyung to his place, the night before to pick out an outfit because Suho had asked him to dress fancy and it had been a while they had gone on a fancy date.
“You know what would go well with your outfit”? Jookyung asks rhetorically as she paces around the front of his closet picking out outfit choices for Seojun’s fancy dinner date with Suho, “those heeled Rick Owen boots Soo got you for your birthday”, she continues bending down beside him, to pick out the shoe. “They’d go so well with the rest of your outfit.”
Thinking about it after the dinner, that was a sly move and he should have seen it coming.
The dinner itself was relatively uneventful and the food was nice but not very impressionable, he’s not sure how accurate that was though after all the other events of that night overshadowed everything else.
He remembers Suho being a bit fidgety all day, early that morning he had started knitting a sweater at some point and Seojun knew he typically only knitted when he was stressed.
Although he really wanted to ask Suho about the reason he was feeling stressed, Seojun eventually opted for giving him space, which meant he went grocery shopping even though the fridge was still half full.
Also by grocery shopping he meant gossiping with Soojin and Jookyung in the aisles of the supermarket until Suho realised he left the house and called him.
“ Hello Darling” Suho says as Seojun picks up the call, as he pulls out of the parking lot.
“So now you want to talk to me”, he says sarcastically but his tone had a playful snark to it. He can hear Suho’s nervous laugh as he drives back to the apartment they shared together, phone on the cars hands free .
“I was making sandwiches for lunch and I wanted to know if you wanted beef or turkey?” Suho asks
“turkey babe!”
“see you soon my darling.” Suho replies
“see you soon my love.” Seojun beamed, ending the call.
He was just happy that his boyfriend wasn’t about to cancel their dinner over whatever was bothering him earlier that day. Despite his own nerves, he was really looking forward to the dinner, Seojun loved a good chance to dress up.

“Babe did I tell you that you look amazing” Suho asks ironically considering he had been raving about how good Seojun looked the entire ride to the restaurant, he’s holding out his fork to feed his boyfriend a piece of his steak, while he asks.
“No you haven’t babe” Seojun replies giggling as he accepted the outstretched piece of meat.
“Well you look smashingly beautiful my love.” Suho remarks.
“Thank you darling, you clean up nicely too”.
“That’s all you’re gonna say” Suho asks dropping his head in mock annoyance his face beaming with a smile.
“Well since you love my outfit so much, you can help take it off later tonight.”
They both laugh and settle back into their meal and the conversation drifts towards work gossip and light jokes.
It’s not until the meal is done and they are both sipping flutes of champagne, over plates of dessert that Suho finally pops the question.
“Han Seojun”, he says softly in a voice Seojun often called his “sexy lawyer” voice. At the sound of his full name Seojun leans in and tightens his hold on Suho’s hand.
“I’m not going to be all sentimental because I know you would hate it if I made you cry in public,” Suho starts
“You rented out the entire restaurant but go on.” Seojun jokes.
“These past four years with you have been amazing, the best years of my life even, living with you, loving you, making love to you, it all has been so wonderful. You’re the best thing that has happened to me and it would make me the happiest man in the world if you became my husband”. He stops to take a tiny box out of his pocket.
“Seojun will you marry me?” Suho asks opening the box to reveal a white gold band lined with sapphires and diamonds.
It was a really pretty ring, the diamonds catching the light in a beautiful way, and holy shit it was custom.
Shut the fuck up!!
Suho had truly gone all out for the proposal, he hadn’t kneeled or done a flash mob, Seojun would have hated that for himself, he had gotten a custom ring like he had mentioned offhandedly during one of their multiple movie nights. But most of all, he had somehow gotten him to wear his Rick Owens kiss heels to the restaurant, and maybe that was the greatest part of this proposal, after the prospect of marrying the love of his life of course.
“Yes, of course I’ll marry you, you’re literally my most favourite person ever, the most important person in my life, every breath I take is so I can exist with you and love you. I love you Lee Suho with all my heart, my soul, everything within and beyond me” Seojun says as Suho places the ring on his ring finger.
“You know, I’m still going to get you a ring anyways” Seojun states as they walk back to the car, his hand hanging on to Suho’s elbow for balance.
“Whatever you want my lovely fiancé” he replies as he smiles and leans into his fiancé, nuzzling softly into his side and kissing his jaw lightly .
“Fiancé has a nice ring to it” (he had a nice ring on his finger for it too).
Here he was engaged to the love of his life and his everything in his favourite Rick Owens' heels, Life couldn’t get any better.
