Work Text:

“Babe did you see my black tie” Suho asked Seojun as he frantically moved around the room searching for the tie because he was dangerously close to running late for a work meeting.

It was Suho’s first work schedule since he got back from his first paid vacation in almost three years, the ring on his finger his favourite souvenir from the trip.

“Honey, if it’s the Louis V, check the hangers in the closet”, Seojun calls back.

”Don’t forget you’re picking me up for dinner later”, he states and Suho replies affirmatively, offering him a quick kiss as he leaves the house, black tie in hand heading for the garage.

Seojun could get used to this new life, a new house with his hotshot Lawyer husband, space in their basement for his very own production studio and an entertainment company that lets him work from home. All the good stuff.

Seojun quickly finds out he was not used to the quietness of the new house, he missed the buzzing sounds of his old refrigerator and the creaking sound of the floorboards in their old kitchenette, he missed the sound of the highway as the cars went by, he found them comfortable to work with, clearly he was bored and the entertainment the TV was offering did not appeal to him, which meant he was left with one option to entertain himself a call with his two best friends, Soojin and Jookyung.

“I cannot believe you, it’s been a month since you moved and still no jipdeuri (Korean housewarming party), I raised you better than this”. Soojin says in a half-complaining, half-joking voice.
“Exactly, ‘WE’ raised you better than that” Jukyung reiterated placing emphasis on ‘WE’ and Seojun imagines her drawing air quotes as she said it.
He just laughs it off and assures them that him and Suho would definitely plan a housewarming party at some point, that it was just something that hadn’t crossed their minds yet.

They continue on the call for another hour and half before Seojun leaves to get ready for lunch.

“Hey, babe, How was your first day back at work” SeoJun asked letting himself into the passengers seat of the BMW.
“You look stunning, darling and work was fine uneventful, although I’m pretty sure Lawson’s secretary noticed my ring” Su-ho replied.
“She was staring?”, he asks comically
“she was staring.” Suho echoed back as a reply.
They both chuckle.
“I’m sure their little group chat was starving for drama anyways.” Seo-Jun comments as he turns on the radio which typically signified the start of their drive.

“She is right though, we should host a jipdeuri, just a small house party, dinner with friends, some family maybe, I’d have to invite my sister and yours too, I’m guessing.“ Suho says as a reply to Seojun telling him about his day and his conversation with Soojin and Jukyung.
They’re seated beside each other in a room of a Japanese restaurant, half eaten sushi plates and a nearly finished bottle of Yuzu juice on the table in front of them as Seojun laid his head on his husband’s shoulder, holding his hands as they planned their housewarming party together.
For a moment he couldn’t help but think about how lucky he was to have met his husband, the love of his life.

Notes:

I don’t remember writing this but I saw it in my notes and I had to post it.

I’d probably post more short and fluffy one shots before I finally post a longer fic about the wedding.

Also do tell me about any errors, bcos this was not beta read or edited at all 😭😭
