Chapter Text
It had been 6 months since the extermination, and Alastor's big failure. The Vees are doing better than ever, as power favors those who take charge. Velvette's fashion shows have been going well, and so has Valentino's.. Filming.
And with Alastor having suddenly disappeared around a week ago, Vox has been on top of it all. Things are going splendidly, at least.. They should be.
Despite the fact that things were going well, Vox has been acting weirdly, and it's pissing Valentino off. It's one thing when the TV star showed weakness in private so long as it wasnt annoying him, but some of the staff have started to notice, and that was unacceptable.
Voxtek is the epitome of perfection, and the leader of the Vees needs to be no less than that In Valentino's opinion. Since Vox couldn't seem to keep his sh*t together by himself, Val was going into his office to ensure he cleans up his act. Imperfection is not to be tolerated.
When Valentino opened the door, Vox was sorting through company files on his computer; not expecting a visit in the middle of work. He was so engrossed in whatever-the-f*ck he was looking at that he didn't notice the tall shadow looming over him, ignoring Valentino by extension.
Valentino stared down at him in disbelief, eyes narrowing. Did that idiot not notice him?! He had been in there for a full 2 minutes! The moth was getting more enraged by the second. He let himself in, shutting the door behind him and approaching Vox from behind. "Voxxy darling.. What the f*ck are you doing?"
Vox didn't hear him, growling and clicking the mouse furiously as one of the tabs on his computer stalled. Valentino stared down at him, patience running a little too short already. If Vox was ignoring him, he'd make him listen. He reached out to grab Vox's shoulder, trying to get his attention. "Vox, I'm talking to you. Are you even listening to me, or am I talking to a f*cking brick wall? Turn around and look at me!"
That got Vox's attention, and the tv demon turned the chair around to look at the moth. "Val! hello darling~" The tv star's screen flickered for a moment as he saw how mad Valentino looked. "Is something wrong?” Oh sh*t.. What’s he mad about?! I could have sworn I remembered to replace those cameras- Valentino's face was unamused, arms crossing over his chest. "Is something wrong? Oh, I don't know if anything is wrong. Except you're acting like a f*cking idiot."
He leaned down towards him, getting in his face a bit. He was already fed up, he didn't have time to deal with this. "You've been acting weird lately. What the hell's going on with you? And don't give me a bullsh*t response, Voxxy." Vox wasn't actually sure what Val was mad about this time. The company was making more money than ever, Angel Dust was being more compliant, so what was it?! Vox pushed down the worry that formed in his chest when he heard Valentino say that he had done something that the moth didn't approve of.
Vox’s internal fans whirred as he tried to think of anything he had done that went against Valentino’s requests, but he really couldn't think of anything. The tv star didn't know what was wrong with him, but lately he had felt disconnected to everything, and felt like he could barely focus.. Maybe that’s what Val was mad about..?
“Val, I really don't know what you're talking about-” Valentino rolled his eyes in annoyance, already tired of his dumb oblivious ‘act’. He grabbed him by the chin to prevent him from looking away, forcing Vox to look at him. "Don't play dumb with me. You know what I'm talking about, Voxxy, don't pretend like you don't. You've been acting like a f*cking idiot and now everyone's noticing. And I don't like it. You need to pull yourself together. Now."
Vox glared at him, electricity sparking along his antennae. "Oh, f*ck you!" Valentino's hand moved from Vox’s chin to his neck, grabbing him firmly. He was not having any of this sh*t today.
"What did you just say to me, darling?" He tightened his grip slightly, looking down at the TV star with a very annoyed glare. "Watch how you talk to me, sweetheart. You're on thin f*cking ice right now. Don't test my patience.."
Vox growled, but didn’t want to risk someone walking into the office and seeing him at Valentino's mercy. "Fine." Valentino narrowed his eyes, unsatisfied with that answer. "No, no. That's not good enough. You can do better than that, darling. I think you should apologize."
Val’s grip on his neck tightened a little more, applying just enough pressure to make it difficult to breathe, and he leaned a bit closer to him, looking even more unamused than before. He knew exactly how to push to get what he wanted from the TV headed demon.
Vox's glare wavered, and he realized that this was not worth it. "Yes.. Val.." Good. That's better. Now we're getting somewhere. Valentino's grip around his neck relaxed somewhat, but he kept holding tight enough that Vox wouldn't be going anywhere.
"That's more like it, darling.. That's more like it." He moved one of his other hands to gently brush Vox’s cheek with his knuckles, making the action look loving and sweet. It almost would have been romantic, if not for the fact that Valentino was far more interested in keeping control.
