Having realized that Senku liked him and cared about him had quickly led to him realizing that Gen did as well.
It was actually entirely on Tsukasa for not realizing as Asagiri Gen, especially for his standards, was not being at all subtle, Tsukasa was the one who had falsely assumed all of Gens treatment of him to be either general kindness or strategy.
Well, he had to correct himself it was of course also strategy since the mentalist would have to make a genuine effort to not have more than one motive at a time.
He simply didn't seem built for that.
In an entirely non malicious way it seemed to make him feel comfortable to have not a hand but at least an eye on peoples metaphorical strings.
And he was also still kind, since liking Tsukasa did not negate the meaning of the kindness with which he treated him.
But. In addition to those things. Asagiri Gen former spy and traitor of the kingdom of might clearly had much like Senku weighed their past as not too heavy and genuinely liked him.
Gen would make sure he felt included, clarifying wanting Tsukasas participation or sometimes simply presence even though he wasn't really needed.
He would specifically seek him out and begin banter too, smiling up at him mischievously.
And being a tactile individual often enough he had a hand on Tsukasas arm the whole time they chatted.
Knowing he was liked had allowed Tsukasa more ease and he was happy to simply spend time around Gen and Senku much more often.
And so with everything and the way Gen was affectionate with Senku as well...
(And wasn't that a thing, the scientist not leaning away from either of their touches, occasionally reaching out himself even to brush against them purposely.)
...with how he was used to Gen acting it took some time to notice that Gen was flirting with him, having forgotten that the way Gen was with Senku was also not the mans usual behavior.
All this being said he missed all the hints Gen had been dropping in conversation until the man had moved up to making an ace of hearts end up with him in a card trick he was doing for no reason and holding eye contact.
Which got the point across rather well.
Gen could definitely tell that Tsukasa had finally gotten it but had the decency not to bring it up allowing him time to think.
Though he hadn't really needed to.
Gen was, as Tsukasa had thought before, deeply kind in ways he didn't like showing.
He was funny and sharp tongued and minded and he had a way of looking at you that made you feel figured out.
Which was the kind of thing that had a scary effect on people who were against him but Tsukasa was not and so it felt simply intimate.
He moved and acted with a playfulness that wasn't always real but either way was endearing.
All of that alone would have been enough.
He was also, in addition to all that, as if he didnt already have Tsukasas heart, one of the most beautiful men Tsukasa had ever seen.
If he hadn't already known he was gay he certainly would now.
Tsukasa never had found time or interest for romance in the old world and then definitely not in this new one but now there was, in fact, time.
And interest.
And so he'd made sure not to make Gen wait too long.
Gens nose crinkled adorably as he smiled and his eyes were soft.
And his mouth against Tsukasas was almost softer.
