Work Text:
”Hi, Mirage!” Lancer smiled brightly at him from the vid screen. ”Thanks for taking my call, I know you’re busy with the new installation!”
“Not so busy that I couldn’t step away for a few minutes. To what do I owe the pleasure?” He leaned back in his chair, resting while he could before they went back to hanging Enemy’s light sculpture.
”Well, you know how we were starting construction on our history museum? When we were clearing rubble from the site, we found an old vault. Optimus thought it looked like an old library, so we opened it up as soon as A3 and some of the other historians were on site. And we did find a lot of literature, but we also found some Golden Age artworks and at least one statue that Alpha Trion says is older than that. I thought maybe you would want to house them at the gallery, even if you don’t want to display them. They’re more suited to your collection than mine, right now.”
Mirage considered for several seconds. The atmosphere of Earth would make preserving old Cybertronian art challenging, but with careful climate control it was possible. And they were considering a new building in Nevada for some of the sculptures Bluestreak had started carving when he wasn’t tending the garden…
“Yes, we want them. We won’t be able to ship them right away, though. Sunstreaker and I will need to purchase a new facility and properly fit it with climate control systems first. Can you tell us what we need to prepare for?”
”I’ve got a list here, with photographs. I think Optimus was happy for the excuse to get away from the office for so long, because he really put a lot of work into it. I’ll send it over, along with some of A3’s observations.”
“Thank you, Lancer. I look forward to reading through it all.” And to, perhaps, seeing some of the things he had thought were long lost again.
