One More Hug
Clarke x Anya - The 100
One-shot
“Just one more hug before you leave ? Please ?”
I t was unfair.
Yeah, really, really not fair.
Clarke sighed as she pushed her head against her girlfriend’s neck. The older girl’s arms around her felt so good.
“I think it’s time for me to go, love.” Anya whispered, caressing her golden hair.
Clarke shook her head, refusing to let go.
They have been together in secret for months and it was becoming less and less easy to hide it. Clarke wasn’t good at hiding what she felt and with Anya, it was really serious. She wanted her friends to know about them, wanted to rant about how wonderful Anya was.
But she couldn’t.
Because Anya was Lexa’s sister. And Lexa was her best friend.
Scared of her baby sis’ reaction, Anya refused to let her know about them. And Clarke, even if she wanted to tell everyone about it, was a bit scared too. Lexa and her had been friends since kindergarten and loosing her would break her heart.
At the same time, loosing Anya would literally kill her.
So she was in a bad place, torn between the two sisters that were so important to her.
“Clarke ? Can you free me now ?” Anya laughed.
And God, her laugh. It warmed Clarke’s body and put a big smile on her face. It wasn’t easy to get Anya to show her emotions, she was a pretty introvert person. Despite that, Clarke always succeed in making her smile and laugh and blush.
“If you don’t, I’ll be forced to use my strength.”
“You have none.” Clarke mocked, tightening her grip on her girlfriend’s hips.
“What ? You, moron !”
Anya pushed her on the couch and tickled her. Clarke squirmed under her hands, biting her lips to contain her laugh. She would not loose against her.
“Beg me to stop or I will not !” Anya ordered, an evil smile spreading on her lips as she furiously tickled the younger girl.
“Never !”
Even with all her will, Clarke eventually lose it. A huge laugh left her mouth as she pushed Anya to make her stop. After a few more seconds of torture, Anya let herself fall on top of Clarke, hugging her tightly.
“I love you.” She whispered, kissing her cheek.
Butterflies. Clarke loved those butterflies that seemed to fly in her belly every time Anya said things like this to her. Clarke lost her eyes in Anya’s brown ones. There was something so soft in them.
Anya took Clarke’s cheeks in her hands, caressing her skin tenderly.
“I love you too, An’.”
The girl smiled and leaned to kiss her. Clarke sighed. Her lips felt too good on hers. Like a warm embrace. She wished to never move again, staying like this forever. Just Anya and her.
“Please, don’t leave.”
“Clarke, you know why I can’t…”
“But, babe, Lexa wouldn’t know where you are.” Clarke said, pouting.
Despite wanting to kiss her pout away, Anya sighed and sat on the couch, freeing Clarke from her grasp.
“Anya…”
“I can’t, Clarke. My sister can’t know. Lexa is smart, I can’t lie to her.”
“But that’s what we’re doing every day !”
“Please, don’t be like this. I’m trying, okay.”
Clarke gritted her teeth, reminding herself that, yes, Anya was trying to make this work.
And, in fact, making their relationship public was gonna be hard for Clarke too. Her mother, Abby, was that one type of mom that thought homosexuality was okay as well as it was not in her house.
That was kind of the only reason why Clarke dated Finn Collins in high school. Her mom was starting to ask why she wasn’t dating anyone and Clarke could tell it was in fear of her daughter being queer. So, to make peace, she dated Finn for three months. The guy was not bad but he was kind of a jerk sometimes and Clarke dumped him without regrets.
Now that she was in her apartment with her best friend, she had more room to date girls. But at the same time, being roommate with Lexa was hard when she was hiding her that she was with Anya.
Hearing a sigh at her side, Clarke looked at Anya and saw the pained look on her face.
“Baby, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I know you are doing your best.” Clarke said, putting her hand on her neck in comfort.
Anya smiled kindly at her. It was so hard sometimes, knowing that Clarke wasn’t fully happy because she wanted to hide them. But Anya was so scared her little sister was gonna be mad at her for falling for her best friend.
“I don’t want you to be unhappy…” Anya whispered, biting the inside of her cheek.
“Oh, no, don’t think that. I’m so happy with you, An’. You’re my everything.” Clarke swore, kissing her forehead with love.
“You’re not. You don’t want to hide. I… I’m the older one, I should be able to get you what you want, to make you the happiest.”
The panic in Anya’s voice was heartbreaking. And Clarke was starting to see the amount of pressure Anya was putting on her own shoulders. It was huge.
“Baby, please, look at me. I wouldn’t change you. Never. You are making me the happiest. Please, believe me.” Clarke muttered. “Hiding is kind of hot, you know ? It’s exciting sometimes.”
The smile on Clarke’s lips made Anya’s face light up a bit.
“Yes ?”
“Yes. I love you so much, An’.”
“Love you too.”
The two girls spent a few minutes kissing and hugging before Anya really had to go.
They were at the door, Clarke having trouble letting her out and Anya looking lovingly at her.
“Just one more hug before you leave ?” Clarke asked with a cute pout. “Please ?”
“You’re impossible.” Anya laughed, opening her arms. “Come here.”
Happily, Clarke nuzzled against her girlfriend. It was, without a doubt, the best place in the world. And she would gladly spend her whole life here. With Anya at her side.
