Summary
A severe drought had plagued the village for a long time, leaving its people hungry and sick. As the village and his family’s last hope, Kung Lao set out to climb the mountain where the Fire God’s temple stood. With no women left to offer as tribute—most of the village’s females were either old, very young, or married—Kung Lao knew the gods usually preferred pure, chaste females. But with no other options, he persevered. When he collapsed from exhaustion and cold on the mountain, a dragon appeared from the sky.
Little did he know, his plea would lead to something much greater and surprising.
