    Telemachus was five years old when his father was taken from him.
    He has spent his childhood in a world wrought with infection, with rot–with corpses that claw themselves free of the grave and disease that blackens veins and turns good men rabid. He and his mother exist in the fragile peace they have created, and they survive.
    Telemachus is fifteen years old now, and his father is dead in all the ways that matter: in presence, in memory, in mind. But when a threat descends upon the only home he and his mother have, Telemachus is forced to confront the reality that maybe he's wrong.
