She watched as her doctor successfully removed the tumour and unlocked her doors, allowing the others to get through.
But she could tell it would be too late.
Don't wait. Take it to them.
She saw the startled look on her doctors face and watched as it quickly turned to determination.
"Stay here," he said to his assistant as he carefully took the box. She called after him, worry radiating off of her, but he was gone.
You need to move carefully but quickly.
Her doctor continued down the hall, years of practice giving him the skills he needed to race down the hall with perfectly still hands, the time slipping away faster than she wanted.
I won't let you die.
She shouldn't have been able to, certainly wasn't allowed, but she decreased the gravity around them just enough that they could move a little faster, save those extra few precious seconds.
When her doctor made the handoff, the container safely locked and sealed away, she felt the sigh of relief her people made throughout the city, thankful for no more lives lost.
