Sometimes, you just have to write something that appeals to your niche interests. And my niche interests are podcasts and advice columns. Hopefully this will make someone else laugh too, at least a little

title from the beatle's Dear Prudence, the namesake of the advice column of the same name.

Who Weekly? Explains The Drake-Wayne Drama

June 14, 20XX · 5:00 AM

TRANSCRIPT:

Rachel: We are back with our two amazing guests, Bobby and Lindsay of Who Weekly. Welcome to the show!

Bobby: Thanks for having us

Rachel: Thanks very much for being here to explain what’s going on with a public figure who in my mind is definitely a Who.

Lindsay: Yeah, it’s interesting because I think if you’re from Gotham, Tim Drake is a Them. But if you’re from anywhere else he isn’t. But that isn’t the same with Bruce Wayne, Bruce Wayne is a Them all over. So it’s kind of in this interesting middle ground where it gets picked up and then it snowballs.

Rachel: For the audience, can you remind us of the difference between a Who and a Them?

Lindsay: Oh sure, a who is like, ‘who is that person?’, like someone you see on a tabloid in the airport and you’re like I have never even heard of this person. Whereas a them, it’s like Oh I’ve heard of them, and there’s obviously always going to be a generational, location, age divide on these. But this is a fun case of a who and a them intersecting in weird ways

Rachel: So for anyone who’s never seen it, Chirper went crazy the other day over the news that Timothy Drake, who had previously been taken in by Bruce Wayne after the death of his father-

Bobby: I think an underappreciated element of this is that Tim Drake’s dad was killed with a boomerang.

Lindsay: Wait, really?

Bobby: yeah, Gotham, right?

Rachel: Gotham really is like that, huh. Anyway Bruce Wayne’s been having a bit of a weird one, burning money non stop, trying to be everyone’s favorite billionaire online which is a fight he’ll never win outside of Gotham where people are very defensive of him. Anyway, Drake, previously Drake-Wayne, is emancipated, drops the Wayne name, and ends up becoming majority shareholder of W.E. And of course, with anything talking about Wayne out come the conspiracy theories.

Lindsay: Right, and you know, not only is Bruce Wayne this beloved Gotham philanthropist figure, he’s also associated with Batman. So it really is a gold mine, for people who want to put out theories, and also just for people making jokes, which, considering Wayne’s track record of 3 for 4 on adopted kids with black hair and blue eyes..

Bobby: It’s something people notice for sure.

DG: You couldn’t have done any of this less publicly? If you’re right and he really is lost, he’s not going to be happy when he comes back with his ducky rejecting his name like that.

TD: It was his plan.
TD: And don’t call me that

Brucie Back at The Office

Bruce Wayne, CEO of Wayne Enterprises is back at the office after taking a step back from the company for mental health treatment. We speak to him about being public about mental health issues, Tim Drake’s work with Lucius Fox, and what’s coming next.

Last month, Gotham’s own Bruce Wayne gave a press conference, with Timothy Drake attending, surprising many given the public nature of the take-over following Drake’s emancipation. I was lucky enough to sit down for an interview with Wayne afterwards, where he was forthcoming on topics such as mental health stigma, his relationship with Tim Drake, and his plans for the next quarter at Wayne enterprises…

my manager and the former CEO are secretly dating, my boss changes his mind on a dime, and more

By ALISON GREEN on MAY 7

It’s four answers to four questions. Here we go….

1. My manager is dating the CEO

I’ve worked with my boss Jim for about a year and it’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. He’s the head of our department, think engineering, but had previously been majority shareholder due to a pretty weird series of events when our current CEO had to take a break from business, as he had been the CEO’s protege for years at that point. Now CEO is back, and while their relationship might have appeared damage by what looked like a hostile takeover, they actually seem closer together. Jim reports to CEO.

For some time now I had suspected that Jim was having an affair with the CEO. They spent an unusual amount of time together, and CEO calls Jim by a very uncommon nickname. We work quite closely together, and I thought it was none of my business so I just hoped I was wrong – but I unfortunately saw the two of them exchange a quick kiss after a meeting had concluded, and Jim told me that they’d been dating for some time. Neither of them has informed HR – but then again, one of them is the CEO so presumably not much can be done there.

I’m honestly kind of concerned about Jim. CEO is a big name in the community, and they’ve known each other since Jim was a child (there is a significant age difference). What’s more, this would be a pretty significant media story if it came out – the CEO is basically a celebrity. I don’t want to find another job, besides this, this is the best job I’ve ever had and the benefits are amazing. I realize this doesn’t paint a particularly good picture of the company but I promise it really is a great job. Am I obligated to say anything to try and help Jim? Jim seems perfectly happy in this relationship, but I know looks can be deceiving.

I take your word for it that this organization is a good place to work, because from the outside this looks like a mess. But, from what you’ve described they don’t appear to be acting unprofessionally – and like you said, the CEO is pretty unlikely to be fired at his own company. Your boss has put you in an a really awkward position, but then again I’m not sure if letting you just wonder about it would be any better.

Ultimately, the media story, the relationship between them really isn’t any of your business, and if there is an issue within your manager’s relationship, you’re not the right person for him to go to. I think this one is just above both of our pay grades.

Why is there an increase of French people in Gotham over the last few weeks.
Just been noticing lately – wondering if it was a local event or some kind of weird rogue trafficking scheme. Normally the only Gotham tourists are the thrillseekers lol

Nice try, Bat

u/RedHotRed

It’s real. Seen them myself. Kinda weird. I know there’s speculation he was 3, and 3 was pretty small when he first started. That said, there’s been at least 3 B’s that I’ve seen, so who knows what it’s like.

u/Crotokljk

Does anyone else think we should leave them alone? They already do so much for us. Why not just let them have it.

u/71coastghoast

Because we don’t even know how old RR is and it was one thing when B was letting kids risk his life in his war against crime, and now he’s fucking them?

Vale: Now, I know we’ve talked a lot about the serious issues, but I’ve got to put a word in. Ever since you came out, people have been wondering about you and that beefcake in the leather jacket.

Drake: What, Connor? [Drake laughs] No, no, we saw each other too much as kids, I think he’s seen me do the stupidest things I’ve ever done. Plus, if I’m completely honest, I’ve always had a thing for the older guy.

Vale: Any older guy in particular?

Drake: Well, it wouldn’t be very nice to anyone if you were the first to know, Vicky!

Vale: Well there you have it boys, sorry, but it seems Gotham’s favorite twink is looking for someone in particular…

Drake: [Laughing again] Oh Vicky, don’t...
