Ranboo knew his platonic husband was independent. He always liked to take care of everyone else but himself. Despite, the many many attempts to help, he wouldn’t accept it. Tubbo had to do everything on his own. It had always been that way and so it always would be. He couldn’t let someone else take care of him when he didn’t deserve it. Eventually, Ranboo finally forced Tubbo to let them help but it wasn’t easy.
A creeper exploded right next to him. He hadn’t heard the hissing sound until it was too late. His leg was covered in blood. Tubbo had to drag himself through the cold snow all the way to their mansion. Snowchester was nice…it was safe. But sometimes the cold didn’t go away even when he was inside. He managed to stand and fell into the door opening it. Panting as he sat up, Tubbo made his way up to the bathroom. Messily wrapping his leg in bandages, he didn’t bother to clean it. He’d live. Michael was napping so luckily he didn’t have to worry about him. Tubbo was glad that Ranboo was with Techno for once in his life. He put on long pants that would cover the bandages. The pain brought the feeling of needles poking into him. Dinner came fast and he made himself busy making soup. It was cold out so he hoped Ranboo would appreciate it. He woke Michael up and set him in his high chair. “Bee!” Tubbo grinned at the little zombie piglin’s excitement. More grunts and babbles came from Michael. The door slammed open. He avoided flinching despite being jumpy. “Hello, Boo. How was your day?” Ranboo smiled and went on about his interesting day with Techno. “And then we-“ Tubbo felt pain shoot up his leg. ‘Fuck.’ Ranboo paused and studied the other’s expression. “Sorry- I just uhm thought of something unpleasant?” It was an absolutely horrid excuse but apparently it sufficed because the enderman nodded and continued their story. Tubbo fed Michael the soup and listened. Soon, dinner time ended and he tucked the child into bed. Ranboo got ready for bed and went to say goodnight to Michael.
Once the zombie piglin fell asleep, the two went to bed. Tubbo couldn’t seem to sleep. He was restless, tossing and turning. ‘Stupid leg pain.’ Ranboo had dozed off awhile ago and Tubbo didn’t want to wake them. The ram hybrid crept to the bathroom and unwrapped the bandages. ‘Oh damn…that looks bad.’ He hissed in pain. Tubbo wrapped new bandages on his leg. He turned and opened the bathroom door. Michael was staring at him wide eyed. “AH- ohmygosh Michael…don’t do that.” The child whined and pointed at his leg. “Boo.” He pointed at the Ranboo who was fast asleep. Then, Michael pointed back to Tubbo. “Hey…Mikey…do you think you can keep this between just you and me?” The zombie piglin whined. “Please…” Michael nodded and Tubbo picked him up. “Alright back to bed with you.” The little one giggled and got tucked into bed again. Tubbo sighed with relief and went back to bed.
Morning came fast and Tubbo had to get up. He needed to visit Tommy that day. First, he made breakfast. Ranboo didn’t have to be anywhere so it was his turn to watch Michael. Tubbo limped down the stairs. ‘Fuck…it’s worse than yesterday.’ Ranboo watched their platonic husband almost face plant into the kitchen. “Hey, Ranboo. What do you want for breakfast?” He looked Tubbo up and down. “Tubbo-…what’s- why is your leg bleeding?!” Ranboo panicked quickly shoving Tubbo into a chair. “Wait! Ranboo I promise- I’m fine- I handled it!” He sputtered trying to downplay the clearly severe injury. “No, you didn’t ‘handle’ it.” Ranboo rolled up Tubbo’s pant leg. He grimaced in pain. “Oh…Tubs…why didn’t you say anything?” The enderman fussed with concern. “It’s fine! I can take care of myse-“ Ranboo scoffed and interrupted him. “I know you think you can do everything by yourself but you can’t. I let you help me all the time. It’s your turn to let me take care of you. You need it, honey.” Tubbo frowned and fidgeted. ‘I don’t deserve it.’ The ram hybrid avoided the worried looks Ranboo kept giving him. “I don’t….I don’t need help. I told you-“ Ranboo took his hands in their own. He inhaled. This was for Tubbo’s own good. Ranboo needed to be stern. “Nope. I know what you’re thinking. Bee, please….you deserve help. I’ll remind you until you believe me.
Finally, Tubbo let Ranboo bandage his leg. Before that the enderman cleaned it. “Thanks…sorry.” He mumbled. “Hey…don’t apologize. You got hurt, it’s not your fault. Now, I think someone needs cuddles.” Tubbo’s face flushed and he swatted at his platonic husband. “If you want…” Ranboo wasted no time wrapping his arms around Tubbo. He ran fingers through his hair. They hummed in content. “It’s okay.” Tubbo hugged him tightly. He wasn’t alone. Someone would take care of him. He apparently deserved it. Maybe in time, he’d believe Ranboo. But that was fine. They had all the time in the world. Tubbo and Ranboo ate breakfast together. He’d text Tommy later. Michael told Ranboo about last night even thought he already knew. Tubbo smiled anyways. Things would be okay.
