His son, a scientifically gifted failure, couldn't be bothered to get in the fucking robot. It made him sick, thinking that the gifted mind and exalted name of his wife had to be passed onto this meek, scrawny, barely competent lowlife.
If anything, it made him want to show his son how a real man does things; he himself would pilot Unit-01. He would talk to his wife. His son couldn't be bothered to talk to his own mother. How disgraceful.
