Notes:

This AU is actually much more juicy than I could show there, but I don't know if I will have time and energy to develop it properly, so here. Have some Silmsiblings. Literally.

Feast my children and avoid papercuts!

Aprilertuile Maglor, No!

Chapter 1: Atto, what the fuck.

Chapter Text

- Maglor. No.- Elrond sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. His foster father grinned lopsidedly, bouncing the Silmaril in his gloved hand.

-Come on, yonya . Come on. You know what she can do to the Enemy. - he waved at him with the gem, moving his fingers stiffly.

- No , atya. And don’t compare yourself to Sauron, we talked about that .- Elrond folded his arms over his chest.

-It will cost us nothing to try and it could save many people. I have even already asked her for her opinion! She wants to try it! To finally do some good for this forsaken land. And he made the watch as he tortured Neylo. He made them watch. Calima, tell him.- Maglor pouted theatrically, the little sprite of the Silmaril appearing on his shoulder with a set expression, nodding slowly.

She glared at Elrond for a second, and turned to murmur something into his ear.

-She says she is fairly sure that she could destroy him. Also, she demands more cuddle time with her nephew. And to be introduced to the “little hairy people”. - Maglor turned his head towards the sprite, blinking at it. - Mírenésa, you cannot. You burn mortals, remember? Yes, I know Alcarinqua could, but she is a star right now, and you are supposed to be a secret anyway.- he sighed, cupping the sprite in his hands. She made a face, muttering at him some gibberish.- I know you are really pretty, and yes, that’s a shame, but no. We try to destroy Sauron and then we can talk about it again, all right? See, yonya? You are upsetting her. -

Elrond sighed once more. The sprite made grabby hands towards him, making a miserable expression, and he begrudgingly allowed her to climb onto his palm, the divine light itching his fingers softly. Calima let out a delighted squeak, hugging his thumb tightly.

-Ai, I suppose.- he mulled it over, anxiety tight in his gut. - But what if it explodes. Or it hurts her? Or, I don’t know, Sauron regenerates by accident?-

Calima squeezed his thumb tighter, muttering something in a soft, caring tone, and Maglor put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. - Don’t worry, yonya. I trust her when she says she can do it. We still have that Maia-proofed chamber in the cellar, don’t we? We could try it here. -

He bit his lip, gently patting the sprite on her back with his index finger. -I think we should ask Frodo first.-

Maglor chuckled darkly, and Calima cheered, waving her hands in the air and glowing happily. - Ai ! Yonya , thank you. We shall ask him too, do not worry.- he smiled deviously, plucking the sprite out of Elrond’s hand. - Come with me, mírenésa. Let’s try and kill a Dark Lord.-

Calima grinned, the expression eerily similar to Maglor’s.

Elrond blinked, and with a heavy exhale beckoned them to go.

It couldn’t hurt to try, after all.

And if his father and aunt were so insistent on it, then well. Let them.

Maybe Middle-Earth would yet thank them.

Chapter 2: And Sauron was no more.

Chapter Text

Frodo watched with apprehension as the old elf (and wasn’t that a thought? An elf old enough to have salt-and-pepper hair?) set down a star that they held in their palms. The star unfurled,  and the light transformed into a small figure, impossibly bright.

- Put the Ring on the anvil, dear hobbit.- the old elf said, not unkindly. - We will try to save you more deathly experiences.-

Frodo did as he was bid, even as curiosity budded in his chest. The Ring was silent ever since the star was in the room, the lack of constant whispers a bigger relief than he thought it would be.

-Who are you, sir?- he asked before he could help himself, stepping back to stand under the wall of the cellar.

The elf smiled at him, teeth just a tad bit too sharp, and eyes gleaming in the dim room. It should scare him, probably.

He couldn’t bring himself to care. The light of the star was calming.

-I'm one of the Seven. The last one.- the elf shrugged, leaving the star-being on the anvil beside the Ring and standing next to Frodo, shielding him with their body. - I’ve been called many names. But that doesn’t matter. Now, close your eyes tightly, little one. My sister knows her job.-

He squeezed his eyes shut, and a terrible brightness filled the room. Something screeched horribly, and the tug in his chest that he had not even noticed evaporated into thin air, leaving a soft, gentle ache behind.

The world seemed to freeze, as if waiting.

-It’s done, little one.- the elf patted his shoulder, voice light. - Sauron is no more.-

Frodo opened his eyes just as the world took its first free breath, and the many-colored light of the star bounced off of the elf, making them seem ethereal.

-Sauron is no more.- he echoed, incredulous.

The star-being on the anvil clackled gracefully, as if laughing, and threw itself at the elf, who caught it with ease.

- Frodo Baggins of the Shire, meet Calima Silimariliel, my sister.- they extended their palm towards him, the being smiling brightly at him from there. - She wanted to see you in person.-

-Well met.- he stammered out, eyes wide. She chittered something back, bowing in a quite elvish fashion.

- Now, come on. We must share the news.- the elf threw their head back and laughed, throwing the being into the air where she morphed into a brilliant gem. They hid it in their pocket, silver eyes glimmering with madness. - Come, Mister Baggins! Sauron is no more! Sauron is no more! -

The words reverberated with Power , and suddenly Frodo laughed too, tears falling from his eyes.

Sauron was no more.
