Given that the sons of Eärendil in question don't feel the need to justify themselves to him, it takes a while for understanding to dawn.

When Brynden Rivers was given the office instead, instead of sulking, he demands that his son Aemon be sent home from the citadel instead, as payment for the perceived slight. His brother was only too happy to agree.

    This is the story of the shit show that Aemon came home to when he was called back to Summerhall.
