Summary
In which the title refers to the number of sexual partners a person has had, despite what you might think. With digressions into wanton domesticity, temporary vampirism as an excuse for Logan to have the comics-accurate little kitty fangs (sorry), New York City apartment hunting, canon-typical intimations that Logan is Wade’s little pet Wolverine, photo ops on a dead Celestial, genuine and deep romantic feelings (sorry again), and what happens when you have an unlimited budget for cameos because this is a work of fanfiction and not a multi-million dollar movie.

really really really loved this take on logan. he’s much more honest about his feelings (but that doesn’t mean he’s actually *talking* about them). i feel like this fic really nailed their characterizations and the ratio of funny and serious!!!

There’s nothing else Wade can do, forced to spread wide open and take it, can’t keep Logan out crushed beneath him like this, held in place squirming under Logan’s weight. “Don’t fight it, Wade,” Logan says, husky and close, just the feel of his breath against Wade’s bitten wet throat making him shudder. “Give into it. Give into me.”

Except that there’s still this, for lack of a better word, vibe. It doesn’t feel like just a besties thing with them, and not because Wade’s maybe just never had a really close friendship with a man. Wade’s not stupid—well, some would say that’s up for debate, but cut him a break—he knows what wanting to fuck somebody feels like, and he knows what being in love feels like, and he knows what friendship feels like. It’s just very weird to feel all three of those things at once. Well, not that he’s in love with Logan, shut up. Stop looking at him. But his body count breakdown has so far been romantic relationships (three) wherein he met somebody, had sex with them, and then was their boyfriend, to random hookups (ten) wherein he met somebody, had sex with them, and then wasn’t their boyfriend. He has never actually done the Friends to Lovers trope before, and he definitely has no roadmap for Enemies to Friends to Epic Crime-Fighting Duo The Fans Waited Years For to Roommates to Oh Wait Immortal Life Partners Maybe to Lovers Question Mark Question Mark Question Mark.
But maybe he’s projecting. Maybe the way that he and Logan have fallen into working with each other, the way they’re so much better as a package deal that it’s hard to imagine their franchises going forward without them co-headlining, is just a matter of their characters being so complementary that it had to work. And continuing to live together is just a matter of convenience, a nicety because it’s understandably difficult to start a brand new life in a whole different universe and it’s easier to not do that alone. He wouldn’t have let Logan do that alone. It doesn’t mean anything.
