Why did he agree to do this? He was doing perfectly fine in his bed catching up on this chapter munching on chocolate. But god no, Remus wanting a break? Impossible.
Instead of his fantasy of that book, he is stuck in a room with Evan Rosier.
A haunted room might he add, with fucking banging on the door.
How the fuck did he get there?
Remus woke up from a really shitty sleep, he shouldn’t have stayed up with his roommates, Sirius and James.
He shouldn’t have drank with them a bottle of fucking absolute vodka.
Discussing his life choices in his head he got up and lazily dragged himself to the bathroom.
He got into the shower, turned it on, very warm water and slid against the wall sitting at the bottom of the tub.
He sat there for a few minutes, letting the water attack him, closing his eyes and thinking of yesterday’s mistakes.
Now he wasn’t miserable, but he was rather just tired of everything.
There is a difference.
He opened his eyes and grabbed the shampoo, got up and washed his hair, repeated 2 times and then got the conditioner that Sirius lent him, a memory of Sirius sitting down both Remus and James and giving them a lecture on hair care. He chuckled to himself as he finished his hair and washed his body.
He slowly got out of the shower and looked in the mirror, sighed and washed his face with cold water. Got out and opened his closet to change his clothes. After he changed he went downstairs to see James and Sirius running around the living room.
“It’s too fucking early for this nonsense” Remus groaned loudly
“Morning Moony!” Both of them say in union as they both stopped running and ended up on the couch.
“made you tea” Sirius said.
Remus sent him a smile and sat down on the couch with them
“thanks pads” he said softly and grabbed the mug, started drinking.
“Regulus and the others are going out today, they wanted us to come hang” James announced.
“we’d look like we are on a field trip” Remus immediately responded and took a sip.
Sirius laughed, “can it be on a rocket ship?” He questioned.
“grow up” Remus replied and James just chuckled.
James’ phone rings and he picks it up putting on speaker.
“hey” James says “you are on speaker” he continues
there was a bit of a pause then
“oh hey” Regulus’ voice fills the room.
“the pause was uncalled for” Sirius chimes in
James punched his shoulder “shut up”.
“Anyway, Pandora Evan and i want to go ghost haunting, you guys want to come?” Regulus says like its a normal ‘oh going to the store want anything’
“What?” Remus said furrowing his eyebrows,
“hell yes” both Sirius and James said,
“lupin what do you say?” Regulus asks.
“Fuck no! first of all, that shit is fucking bullshit, second of all, i wanna experience my youth i value my life” Remus explained dramatically.
“Jesus you really have been around Sirius for so long, you sound like him” Regulus replied.
Remus sighs, “yeah i saw that too..” he continued.
Sirius gave Remus a look and he just shrugged it off.
“well good luck to you guys but there is no fucking way im coming” Remus said as he stood up and went to his room leaving Sirius and James talk to Regulus.
He closed the door and sat on his bed, opened his book and grabbed his reading glasses, sat up and got comfy with pillows and blankets, and started reading.
Remus managed to finish 3 chapters and half a family sized chocolate bar until his phone buzzed and buzzed which interrupted his thoughts, he sighs putting the book aside and picking up his phone, checking that he got many messages.

Remus watched the words on his screen and debated on actually going, oh fuck it.
nerd📚: you’re on rosier.

he chuckled at Evan’s last text and closed his phone, rubbed his face and changed his clothes, nothing too fancy just some baggy jeans and a jumper, really simple the only thing that struck out of character for him were his pierced ears and the dangly earring he is wearing on one ear and a black stud on the other.
Yeah that is indeed another regret of Lupins wise decisions yesterday.
He went downstairs and saw James and Sirius all dressed.
“decided to tag along?” Sirius turns to look at him and asks.
“Yeah, was promised chocolate” Remus replied chuckling and James just shakes his head laughing.
The car ride felt like ages to Remus, he swears they’ve been on the road for 2 hours, but it’s only been an hour and a half.
“This is a road trip” James says excitedly.
“are we there yet” Sirius asks for about the millionth time,
Remus laughs and shuts him up by pretending to choke him from behind, since Sirius called shotgun.
Sirius gags and bursts out laughing pretending he is dead closes his eyes and sticks his tongue out.
“And here i thought Remus is the mature one” James says between laughs, Remus laughs and just shrugs it off.
“He repeated that question about a million times” he replied finally after catching his breath from laughing.
After 20 minutes, they arrived at this house and parked their car next to the others, Remus sighed as he opened the door and got out.
The cold breeze hitting his face as he stepped out and stretched himself to his length, crouching in the car was not good, never put a tall person in the back seat, his hair flying from the cold wind, he put his fingerless gloved hands in his pockets as he rocked himself a bit, watching the others get out of their car and coming towards them.
his eyes scan Pandora, Regulus and Evan. Who was the only one walking up to him, while Reg went to James and Pandora went to Sirius.
He flashes a small smile at Evan and Evan hurries to him.
lovely for you to join us, Lupin.” Evan says with a smile.
his cheeks red from the cold, his blonde hair flying and his jean jacket barely warming him up.
Remus giggles, “where is my chocolate Rosier?”
Evan then takes out a mars bar from his pocket and gives it to him, he smiles and takes it, their fingers brushing against each other and Remus blushes like a Highschool girl, he immediately clutches the bar and puts it in his pocket and looks at the others.
“Reg! Panda!” He yells and hugs pandora,
she giggles “hi rem! How’re you?” she asks so politely
god bless her, but on another note no, she was probably the reason this outing came in mind, he shakes his head and smiles
“im forced to be here panda im horrible”.
She laughs “it’s probably my fault”
Regulus hits Remus’ shoulder “stop being a pussy, man up” he says
“hello to you too reg” Remus chuckles.
“i hate to be the mature one here, but this is safe right?” Sirius pops up for the first time in Remus’ eyes asking a very valuable question.
Pandora turns to him and shrugs “probably, i got us sage to protect us so nothing can follow us at the end of our tour”.
“Oh yes that helps ease my nerves panda” Sirius replies nodding his head and shaking it no at the same time.
James laughs, “we will be finee, i believe in pandora”
Regulus agrees “yeah all trust in panda”,
she giggles.
Remus glances at Evan, who was still in the same spot he left him in, he glances back at Remus and gets closer to the others
“yeah we trust panda” he says as he stands beside Remus.
He gulps, why is he acting so fucking weird around Evan, and since when did Evan become… like this, the last time Remus saw Evan he was still immature short and.. not like this.. something about him now makes Remus nervous and he doesn’t know why, and it scares him so much. He cannot be having a gay panic, especially over Evan Rosier…
After some talking and catching up, they decide to go inside. The house is really old, dark, dirty and just creepy, really fucking creepy.
When you walk in the cold breeze immediately is gone and you are faced with a warmer temperature, dusty a bit. It looks about a 100 year old house, broken wooden floors, ripped curtains and cobwebs.
Somehow you can see them clearly with the flashlights.
“okay, we’ve got flashlights, dowsing rods, rem pods and a spirit box” pandora lists, “we are six people, each of us have a flashlight. We’ll go around using the equipments to talk to spirits” she continues.
“Oh yeah because we can actually talk to them?” Remus scoffs and as soon as he says that, there is a sudden bang from upstairs on the left of them.
He freezes and lightly jumps. “What the fuck?”
Sirius and James jumping too. Both Evan and Regulus tried to act like that didn’t phase them but they both jumped too
“be nice to them Remus, otherwise bad things will happen” Pandora explains calmly, the sound not phasing her at all in fact she seems happy and intrigued.
“right.. uh sorry.. spirit..” Remus apologises.
“Can we move please im creeped out now” Sirius says and walks forward, and they all followed.
“okay, guys form a circle here.” Pandora instructs
“we are not doing a seance are we?” Regulus asks
“omg are we summoning?” James says excitedly
“mate i’ve seen these only in movies” Sirius exclaims as they all watch Pandora and Evan set up a device in the middle of the room.
“This is a rem pod, anything that gets close to it, it beeps and makes a sound” she explained.
“So we will form a circle, and try summoning a spirit to come and talk to us, we will each ask a question and wait for it to beep” Evan continued.
As they both set up the rem pod, they stepped away and stood in the circle with the rest, Evan stood next to Remus.
“are there any spirits here with us?” Pandora starts, the silence is creeping Remus out a little, suddenly the rem pod goes off and everyone jumps.
“Oh my god??” James yells, Pandora smiles.
“Hi, I’m Evan, and these are my friends and twin sister, we are here to look around, would you want to join us?” Evan asks and the silent comes back again, then it lights up red again and the sound of it fills the room, this time without making anyone jump, just surprised this is really happening.
“okay thank you! hope we can talk to you soon!” Pandora says with a soft voice,
“goodbye!” she makes all of them say in union. And she goes to turn off the device,
Sirius looks and his eyes are wide “did that really just happen” he asks
“yes..” Remus replied still in shock too.
They move to another room, and somehow this one is colder than the other, it definitely gives you the chills, Remus glances at the hallway and he sees a shadow of a man that just walked past the stairs. He jumps and flashes the light at the place
“fucking hell!” He exclaims and everyone turns around.
“what happened?” Regulus asks,
“there was a man.. right there.. he went up the stairs” Remus says and turns around
“fucking hell, i hate this i hate this” he rubs his face.
“shit dude, you saw a shadow!” James says,
Evan rubs Remus’ arm in comfort
“it probably got scared of you and went up the stairs its okay..” he says softly
and Remus stops rubbing his face letting his hands go and glances at Evan, he gives him a soft smile and Remus returns it.
“Im gonna get the spirit box, this way we will be able to talk to them, maybe see if the spirit followed us here” pandora says,
“oh can i speak?” James volunteers and pandora nods, she hands them the spirit box and he turns it on.
“Hi.. is anyone here with us?” he asks softly, trying to match the tone Evan and Pandora talked in earlier in the other room.
A lot of static noises were coming out of the device and then suddenly, a clear as day voice of a little girl comes through saying hi.
Everyone turns to each other wide eyed,
“what the fuck?” Sirius whispers,
“uh hello! I’m James! What’s your name?” James continues, his voice shaky a bit.
As the static comes back on Remus holds onto Evans jacket for a little comfort, he still cannot believe all of this is happening.
“Mabel” the little girl says with a loud static coming up after she finishes her sentence.
“Hi Mabel what a pretty name.. i’m here with my friends, can you see us?” He continues.
Remus tugs on Evan’s jacket, this time in excitement rather than being scared.
this time there was a longer pause than before then the girl’s voice, “yeah, a lot of you..”
Everyone giggles.
“how old are you Mabel” Sirius asks following the same tone.
While they were waiting for an answer, Remus feels something behind him so he shivers and turns to look at Evan tugging his jacket harder,
“you okay?” Evan asks gently,
“felt something touch my back or i don’t know” he answers,
Evans eyes widen and he pulls Remus closer to him.
“5 years old” the sound of the girl gets Remus’ attention again,
“will you follow us around Mabel?” Regulus asks,
“yes” immediate response from Mabel.
“okay thank you Mabel” he says.
James turns off the spirit box and just stares at it.
“I don’t know why but i feel safe with her.. unlike the person i felt behind me” Remus explains,
“wait behind you?” Pandora questions,
“yeah i felt someone behind me it was creepy and it felt so warm, i didn’t like it. But suddenly she spoke and i felt at ease”
Pandora nods, “she is a protector maybe, a good spirit”,
“she seems nice” James says,
“so young..” Sirius adds.
“Yeah poor girl.. 5 years old..” Evan says as he is still holding Remus close to him.
“can we go upstairs and see if the man Remus saw is there?” Regulus suggests
Remus’ head turns so quick he almost breaks his neck
“oh my god i hope you are joking” Remus replies
Regulus just shakes his head no and points the flashlight
”lets go” he says as he starts heading there and the others follow while still looking around.
Evan holds Remus’ hand and points the flashlight to the hallway, “wanna check this hallway before going upstairs?” Evan asks,
Remus looks at him and nods, who is he to say no to Evan? Especially when he is holding his hand.
Evan takes a device with him and tugs on Remus’ hand making him follow him down the hall.
“Mabel please be with us” Remus whispers
Evan giggles.
“i believe she is” he whispers back.
As they walk down the hall, Remus keeps looking left and right, they stumble upon a big mirror and stop. They look at each other then look at the mirror. Remus watches Evan get closer to the mirror and staring at himself.
“Are you okay?” Remus whispers softly
Silence is what Remus gets in return, he looks at the mirror and he notices a figure behind Evan in the mirror trying to lure Evan in because Evan kept coming forward and closer to the mirror, he holds Evans wrist and pushes him into his arms.
“EVAN” he screams.
Evan suddenly looks up at him and his eyes widen a bit.
“w-what?” He whispers
“Are you okay?” Remus asks looking down at him and realising they are so close.
Remus notices the slight blush Evan has on his cheeks, they turn a rose colour and it’s so cute.
“im okay..” he answers.
“guys? what happened i heard screaming?” Regulus comes
“uh someone was trying to make Evan go inside the mirror?” Remus replies and notices Regulus’ eyes widen.
“we better head upstairs with the others” Regulus says
They both nod and walk away, Evan looks back at the mirror for a bit then looks forward again tugging on Remus’ hand. They head upstairs and meet up with the others. Evan briefly explains what happened with him and the atmosphere changes, everyone becomes more scared because this is slightly turning real. It’s not just jokes.
This is what scared Remus, he swore he didn’t believe in all of this bullshit, but after what happened he is starting to doubt himself, especially the shit that happened with Evan, that was the scariest by far. He really hopes Evan is okay.
“okay we are going to do something called an Estes method, one of us will be blindfolded and handed the spirit box, they will have headphones on and will blurt out any words they hear. While we were be asking questions on the other side” Pandora explains
“They won’t be able to hear our questions?” James asks
Pandora nods.
“can i be the one to do it?” Sirius volunteers
“Yeah sure, when we are done with question we will tap you so you would take the headphones ans blindfold off okay?” Evan explains.
Sirius nods and sits on the edge of the bed, Regulus puts the blindfold on for him and pandora puts the headphones and turns the spirit box on.
“is anyone here with us? Perhaps mabel? you still here?” Pandora asks
silence, silence, silence then Sirius speaks up.
“not her” he says.
Everyone ears perk up and look at each other, Remus got chills hearing this.
“t-then who?” James asks stuttering a bit
Silence, Silence, Silence. No answer
“Are you the guy i saw in the mirror?” Evan asks
Silence, Silence, Silence then Sirius speaks up.
“No” he flats out says. “Want him..?” Sirius says confused
“want who?” Regulus asks confused as well
Silence, Silence, Silence then Sirius speaks up.
“Him” he says
“who is him?” Evan asks
Silence, Silence, Silence then Sirius speaks up.
“Remus” he says
Remus’ breaths hitches and he immediately looks at pandora, James and Regulus eyes widen and gasp, Evan tugs on Remus’ hand.
Pandora looks at Remus in sympathy..
“Want Remus” Sirius speaks up again
James taps Sirius to get him off and he takes the headphones and blindfold off.
“what happened?” Sirius asks.
Remus doesn’t know what was explained to Sirius but he cannot breath, he cannot believe whoever the fuck was speaking said his fucking name, he bends down on the floor and puts his hands in his hair breathing heavily.
Evan immediately bends down next to him and puts his hands atop of Remus’. Sirius and James bend down too to check on Remus.
Evan looks up at Pandora and then gets up from beside Remus, Regulus replaces his place next to Remus.
“do you know why he said Remus’ name? how is that even possible?” Evan whispers to Pandora.
“I don’t know.. that was really creepy, we need to protect him. I’m getting a really negative vibe. Whoever this was.. is not good at all. We need to know more why does he need him what does that even mean” She whispers back
Evan looks stressed, he glances at Remus and the others, Remus glances at him and he knows, he just knows deep down he ate shit.
“Am i going to die” Remus says and chuckles
“shut up dude no” James replies seriously.
Sirius hits his shoulder
“shut up” he says chuckling
Evan looks at Remus and Remus looks back at him, Evan has a look on his face that Remus cannot read, he is going to have to debrief it later with Regulus.
Evan and Pandora join the others on the floor forming a circle once again, She puts the spirit box in the middle and two lit candles around Remus.
“are you sacrificing me?” He asks and in response she hits his shoulder and he laughs
“its protection for you” she explains
She turns on the spirit box again and everyone just stares at it
“Mabel? please are you here?” Sirius asks pleading
“here” a little girls voice comes through
Everyone sighs and smiles.
“Do you know who that was? That man?” Pandora asks
Static, Static, Static
“William.. bad man..” she says in between Statics
“Hi” a really deep man voice comes through and Remus tenses.
Remus closes his eyes and holds James’ hand, James tightens his grip around Remus’ hand.
“Stay away from Remus”
Static, Static, Static
a deep laugh comes through and Remus feels it in his veins, he shudders and James’ hand tighten.
“want him” the voice says again
“No, you cannot have him.” Pandora says with more stern voice
“want him to help” the voice says
Remus furrows hus eyebrows, “how will i help?” He speaks weakly
Static, Static, Static
“message”
“I’m sorry”
“Crash”
The voice says these three words and everyone looks confused.
“what does that mean?” Regulus whispers
Remus stays still thinking about those words, message? he wants to send a message out? an apology? apology to who? Crash.. Crash.. an accident? he caused an accident?
“you want to say an apology to who?” Remus asks
Static, Static, Static
“Lyall” the voice says
Remus breathes in and immediately grabs the spirit box turning it off and exhales heavily.
This has gone too far, this has to be a prank. Everyone is silent, not daring to say anything until Remus speaks up first.
“I need water ” he says and stands up
Evan stands up “there is water in our bag, in the other room.” He says
Evan looks at the others as he walks to the other room with Remus, they bend down next to the bag and sit, Remus takes out the rods and looks at Evan.
“Whats that?” He asks as he sets them aside and grabs the water and drinks
“It’s an equipment. You ask questions and it moves left and right by itself” Evan explains softly watching Remus drink water.
A sudden bang and they jump, the door closes shut by itself and Evan jumps up and tries opening it but it’s jammed.
“GUYS, GUYS WE ARE FUCKING STUCK” he yells in hopes they can hear him
“WE KNOW! WE ARE TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR ITS NOT WORKING” Regulus yells back
“fuck fuck fuck fuck, this is not how i planned on ducking dying” Remus says repeatedly
“Okay stop freaking out cause if you do then i do and im trying to think light on this” Evan says
“light? light? think light? the door is jammed by it fucking self Evan. It’s probably that angry spirit” Remus spat out
Evan backs away from the door as he lets the others try unlocking it from their side and he sighs as he sits back down with Remus.
Remus picks up the rods and as he did they move to the right.
“Is it supposed to do that? Evan.. whats happening?” Remus asks and looks at Evan with wide eyes
Evan looks at him then back down at the rods then back at Remus. Then back at the rods and they turn pointing straight again.
“William? is this you?” Evan asks in a small voice
They watch the rods turn to the right
“Jesus Christ” Remus blurts out
Evan punches him
“ow what the fuck?”
“You’ll probably anger him?? you are saying Jesus’ name to a fucking spirit” Evan says
“okay? what if he is a devoted Christian?” Remus replies
Evan gives him a look and then they both look down at the rods as they see it move to the left.
“oh not a fan of Jesus okay got it” Remus nods
“Will you let us out of the room?” Evan asks
the rod stays still in the same place on the left side.
“When you said to tell Lyall sorry, did you mean the accident that happened 10 years ago?” He asks and closes his eyes
The rods turn to the right and Evan puts his hand on Remus’ shoulder and Remus knows, he just knows those rods turned to the right. He sighs and opens his eyes and looks down at them.
“okay.. okay i will tell him William.. i will tell him that you apologise.” Remus says and puts the rods away in the bag.
The door starts shaking and his breath hitches, he inches closer to Evan and hides his face in his chest, while Evan holds him in his arms, closing his own eyes shut.
The screams from the others on the other side goes blank to Remus, he shut them all out, he is just focusing on Evans’ heartbeat.
Suddenly the door opens and Everyone runs to them both.
“EVAN” Pandora and Regulus yell
“REMUS” both Sirius and James yell
They make their way to him and hug him tight, while Pandora and Regulus hug Evan.
While Sirius and James were hugging Remus he glances at the hallway and sees the man he saw when he first entered the house, the man looks at him and nods, then disappears.
When he disappears the atmosphere changes suddenly, it changes to how it was when Mabel was here.
Remus realises all William wanted was forgiveness from Lyall. Did William not know Lyall died? Can he not visit him in the other side? tell him this himself? Maybe he is trapped here.
He closes his eyes and hopes Lyall was here to hear the apology William wanted to say, see that the man that caused him to die in that car crash 10 years ago, regrets it to this day. Even when he died after him.
James and Sirius let go of the hug and everyone stands up.
“lets just say we are never going haunted places again” Regulus says and Pandora laughs
“yeah fucking never” Sirius says
“okay come on guys, lets leave im really tired” James announces.
Everyone starts packing the equipment back into the bags and carries them as they start walking out the door, Remus glances at Evan and Evan looks back at him and goes to him.
“hey” he whispers
Remus turns his head to Evan as they are walking back to the car and hums
“You okay? That was a lot” he continues whispering
Remus nods, “you? I mean the mirror thing was freaky”
Evan chuckles and nods “yeah but im okay”
“thats good, i’m glad” Remus says
For a moment they stare at each other, and Remus just wanted.. wanted something, was it to kiss him? to hug him? maybe both. Also maybe pushing him up against the car and having his way with him but he buried that thought down, far down, If regulus can hear his thought he will be so disappointed with that thought.
His thoughts gets interrupted when Evan suddenly hugs him, he takes a moment to regain his brain as he wraps his arms around Evan and hug him back. His head rests at Evans neck and he breathes in his smell, drowning in his cologne.
How can someone still smell so good after this night, it was so hot in the house, everyone is sweating, but not Evan. Evan still looks absolutely magnificent and smells amazing, smells like he always does and it makes Remus weak in the knees.
He let go of the hug and stares at him, he stares back with a smile and Remus can’t help but smile back, who wouldn’t smile back to Evan Rosier.
Remus glances at the others already getting in the car and he sees Regulus with both of his thumbs up, he chuckles to himself and looks back at Evan.
Evan was about to say something when Remus pulled him close and kissed him. Evans eyes widened at first then he closed them and kissed Remus back, his lips melting into the kiss.
He gets on his tip toes to make himself taller and wraps his arms around Remus’ neck bringing him down with his actual height not breaking the kiss. Remus wrapping his arms around his waist pulling him closer to him as they kiss.
Remus smiles against the kiss, Evan returning the smile. They both open their eyes and let go, Evan bites his lip smiling and Remus smiles looking at him.
From afar their friends cheering in the car because the tension, the playfulness finally ended, and they kissed.
“Didn’t know you were a good kisser Rosier” he says softly
“You bet i am Lupin” he replies and kisses him again.
