Let Sleeping Wolf Lie

Summary:

Geum Seongje has been having trouble sleeping lately. He is able to sleep comfortably around Ju Hwangmo.

Chapter 1: School Morning

Chapter Text

Geum Seongje sometimes naps in the student council room. It was nothing new. Everyone on the student council and those who worked with him for the Alliance knew.

Seongje often naps before class whenever he has a hangover from drinking all night. It is more comfortable to lay down on one of the couches than to sit at his desk for an hour. It was also easier to skip classes if he changes his mind about attending after the bell rang.

During one such morning, Seongje groggily enter the student council room. He hasn't been getting much sleep lately, and those who saw him on the way wonder why he didn't just stay home.

Dark bags under his eyes rivaled his favorite victim, Lee Gongsam's own eye bags.

Ju Hwangmo is already inside the student council room when Seongje entered. He usually greets him, but Hwangmo kept his mouth shut after seeing Seongje's condition.

There were two couches in the student council room. Hwangmo occupies one. The other is empty.

Seongje, in his very sleepy state, lays down on the couch where Hwangmo is sitting. He lets his feet dangle slightly off the arm rest and laid his head down on Hwangmo's lap.

Hwangmo was startled but resisted immediately standing up. Doing so would've caused Seongje to crash to the floor, wake up, and potentially blame Hwangmo and beat him up for disturbing his slumber.

Hwangmo isn't sure what to do. He does his best to not move around as he continues going over the documents he is reviewing.

Seongje comfortably naps in his unusual position.

Minutes later, Hwangmo hears mumbling and saw Seongje's face contorted into uncomfortableness. It is like he is in pain or...scared?

Hwangmo realizes Seongje is suffering from a nightmare.

The thought never crosses anyone's mind, really. No one would think Ganghak's Geum Seongje would ever be afraid of something that will haunt his nightmares.

Hwangmo isn't sure what to do. Ultimately, he gently began petting Seongje's hair. Seongje stiffens but soon relaxes and returns to a peaceful sleep.

The bell rings. Seongje is unawoken. Hwangmo quietly sighs. They'll both be skipping class today.

How was he going to explain their current position when Seongje eventually wakes up?
