We see the Freedom Fighters gathered in their secret hideout.
Sally: Alright, everyone, here’s the situation. A few days ago, Mighty and Ray tried to infiltrate one of Robotnik’s bases on an island, not sure why, but regardless. However, they were caught, and are now being held captive. Our first mission is to infiltrate the prison, save the two, and get out. Any questions?
Rotor raises his hand.
Rotor: How are we gonna get in there? The place is like a fortress. We’ll be caught faster than we can blink.
Sally: That’s the plan. If we let ourselves get captured, they’ll probably take us to where they keep Mighty and Ray. After that, all we have to do is escape.
Sonic: Oh, pretty smart plan, Sal. Alright, Let's do it to it!
Later, the heroes are hiding in bushes near the bridge to the island.
Sally: Alright, remember everyone; we want this to look convincing.
They run across the bridge. However, they are soon surrounded by Swatbots on hover-pods.
Swatbot: Freeze. You are surrounded. Resistance is futile.
The Heroes are handcuffed by the bots, and brought onto a transport vehicle, which flies towards Robotnik Tower.
Later, we see them in Robotnik’s office. The freedom fighters are handcuffed, and Robotnik sits in his chair across from them, Cluck leering at them from his shoulder.
Robotnik: Well, look what we have here. I have to say, princess, I wasn’t expecting to see you again. I mean, I knew the hedgehog would be stupid enough to come after me again, but I thought you were smarter than that. I guess I overestimated your common sense.
Sally: I could never just sit back and do nothing, not after what you did to my father. I swear, me and my friends will find a way to defeat you!
Robotnik: Really? You think your little fanclub can defeat me?
Sonic: We’re not a fanclub, Ro-butt-nik, we’re the Knothole Freedom Fighters!
Robotnik pauses, before beginning to snicker. Eventually, he bursts out into a full on laugh. Cluck also begins to laugh, though it's more of a repetitive hissing.
Robotnik: Freedom Fighters? Seriously? I’m supposed to be afraid of a bunch of teenagers? You couldn’t defeat ACNE, let alone ME!
Eventually, he calms down, wiping a tear from his eye.
Robotnik: Look, I’ve been working on building a new Roboticizer on this island base, and it should be finished today. If you’re serious about what you’re saying, you probably came here to try and save the other three suckers I’ve got here. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see them be roboticized before dinner!
He presses a button on his desk.
Guards, take the, heh, “Freedom Fighters” to their cell. Put them with the others. Prepare the Roboticizer.
A group of Swatbots take the heroes to the cell block. Eventually, they reach a cell with a grid of laser’s blocking the door. One of the Swatbots punches in a code, causing the lasers to fall. The bots force the heroes into the cell. Inside the cell, aside from the heroes, are Mighty and Ray.
Ray: Guys, what are you doing here?
Sonic: Getting you outta here!
Sally: Rotor, do you think you could-
Rotor: I’ll try.
He rips a panel off the wall.
Rotor: Hmm, let's see… maybe if I…
He pulls a wire out of the wall, causing the lasers to fall.
Rotor: All right, that should do it!
Sonic: Alright, Rote! Come on, let’s juice!
They enter the hallway.
Sonic: Alright, where to?
Mighty: Let’s go this way.
They begin to run to the right.
Mighty: Before you guys came here, there was someone else in our cell, a rabbit.
Ray: Yeah, but they dragged her off to be Roboticized.
Sally: Nicole, can you bring up a map of the area?
Nicole: Of course, Sally. Accessing… Access granted. Roboticizer is two doors to the left.
They turn, and enter the second door. They see Snively overseeing two Swatbots, who are forcing a yellow rabbit through a roboticizer.
Rabbit: Get your mitts off of me, you tin creeps!
Snively: If you stop squirming, this won’t take so long.
Sonic: Yo, Needlenose!
They all turn to Sonic. Snively pulls out a walkie-talkie.
Snively: Sir, the prisoners, they’ve escaped!
(As he’s talking, Sonic rushes to the bots, before doing a horizontal spin, cutting their heads off. Antoine puts his sword to Snively’s back.)
Antoine: Now then, if you are not wanting to be losing your head, I am recommending that you deactivate the machine.
Snively: Of course, of course!
As Snively and Antoine go to the machine, Robotnik shouts over the talkie.
Robotnik: Snively, what’s going on?! Snively?!
Sonic picks up the talkie
Sonic: Yo, egghead, you should make your jails outta stronger stuff!
Sonic crushes the talkie. Snively turns off the machine, before Antoine hits him over the head with the edge of his sword, knocking him out.
Antoine: Are you alright, mademoiselle?
Rabbit: Ah’m fine, sugah. Just a little woozy is all.
She gets up, stumbling a bit. She looks down at herself, startled.
Rabbit: Oh mah stars…
Sonic comes over.
Sonic: Hey, I’m real sorry about what happened to you, miss?
Bunnie: Bunnie Lightfoot, though I guess it's more like Bunnie Rabbot now, huh? And don’t go feelin bad for yerself, sugah. Ain’t like this was your fault. Matter of fact…
(She makes a fist, before her arm extends, punching a monitor, shattering it.)
Bunnie: …I think it might even come in handy, for gettin outta here at least!
The others come in.
Sally: Sonic, were you able to…
Bunnie: Oh mah stars, Princess Sally Acorn!
She gets to her knees.
Bunnie: My name's Bunnie Lightfoot, and it might sound silly, but I've always wanted to be your hair-dresser someday. Mind if I take along with y'all after we get outta here?
Sally: Well, we could always use more help fighting Robotnik. And there's no need for the formalities.
Suddenly, the intercoms come to life, with Robotnik speaking through them.
Robotnik: Attention all Swatbots! We have a containment breach in sector 19-93! Get down there and deal with the problem now!
Sonic: Speak of the devil! Alright everyone, it's juice time!
They leave the room, and attempt to head left, only for Swatbots to come charging in. They tried to go right, and more Swatbots block the path. They are closed in.
Rotor: I’m not seeing a way out of here, guys!
Mighty: So I’ll make one!
He punches the wall, causing it to collapse, revealing the outside. They are a few floors up.
Sally: Alright, Rotor, you and I hold on to Sonic. Bunnie, you get Antoine. Ray you float down. Mighty-
Mighty: I’ll be fine, princess. But we need to go.
Sonic runs down the tower with Sally and Rotor. Ray jumps from the opening, and starts gliding towards the bottom. Mighty leaps from the ledge, and curls into a ball on the way down. Bunnie takes Antoine in her arms and jumps from the ledge, only for her legs to extend like stilts, slowly descending.
Bunnie: Well i'll be! This ain’t so bad after all!
They all reach the bottom, which seems to be near a volcano.

Bunnie: All right, now that we all got a minute to breathe, y’all mind introducing yourselves?
Sally: Well, this is Rotor, our head mechanic, Mighty and Ray, friends of ours, Nicole, our supercomputer, Antoine, our head guard-
Sonic: And our head windbag.
Sally: And you’ve met Sonic.
Bunnie: Well, it's a pleasure to meet y’all, but I reckon we should be getting off of this island.
Sally: Not yet. Robotnik is here, which means this is our chance to bring him to justice.
Sonic: You sure about this, Sal?
Sally: Positive. Now let's move out!
We see them moving through the island, from the volcano, an icy region of the island, a desert, and a tower full of traps. Eventually, they would reach a mountain top, avoiding collapsing ground and giant boulders. They begin to run up a cliffside with fireballs coming down that they dodge.
Sally: This is it, guys! We almost made it to Robotnik!
Sonic: Am I the only one wondering where the fireballs are coming from?
Snively: That would be my doing, rodent.

They reach the edge, only to reveal a giant machine, with two saw blades attached to arms on top of the device, with two flamethrowers at the sides of the machine. At the bottom, there is a window, with Snively behind it, operating the machine.
Snively: Doctor Robotnik has tasked me with making sure you pests don’t go any further, and with this, you won’t.
He activates the device. An electric fence activates to the sides of the heroes. The flamethrowers begin turning on and off sporadically. The arms begin moving, before shooting the saws forwards. The heroes dodge. This repeats for several moments before Mighty snaps his fingers.
Mighty: I’ve got an idea! Bunnie, we need to get on top of the machine!
Bunnie: Got it!
The two then climb on top of the machine.
Snively: What are you doing?! Get down from there!
Mighty: I’ll grab one arm, you get the other!
They each grab one of the arms.
Mighty: On three! One… two… three!
They both pull as hard as they can, with Bunnie using her robot arm. The arms are ripped off, leaving the machine defenseless.
Mighty: Sonic, you wanna finish it off?
Sonic: With pleasure.
He revs up, before charging and curling into a ball before ramming into the glass, shattering it, and sending Snively flying to the back of the machine.
Sonic: Looks like your toy’s toast, Snot-ly. What now?
Snively: Why you… This isn’t over, you hear me?! You’ll never leave this island alive!
He pushes a button near him, before tapping the wall behind him, causing the panel to flip, and for him to vanish. An automated voice begins talking.
Automated voice: SELF DESTRUCTING IN 5… 4…
Sonic: Get back!
Everyone runs from the machine. Eventually, it explodes, leaving a path to the rest of the island.
Sally: Well done, everybody. That was a pretty clever plan, Mighty.
Mighty: Aw, it was nothing princess.
Sally: Now come on, Robotnik isn’t much further.
They move past the wreck, and make it up to the entrance of Robotnik tower. However, a speaker activates, and Robotnik speaks through it.

Robotnik: Oh, I’m sorry, we’re not accepting visitors at this time. To make up for this, please accept a free swim in the Tower’s moat instead!
The bridge collapses, causing all of them to fall into the moat. They make their way through the moat, avoiding the obstacles in their way. Eventually, they find a wall leading out of the water, which they start climbing, eventually leading out of the moat
Sonic: coughing; Oh man, I hate water!
They continue, eventually reaching an entrance to Robotnik tower.
Sally: Alright this is it. After this, it’s a straight shot to Robotnik. Are you all ready?
Everyone: YEAH!
Sally: Alright, let's go!
They ascend the tower, dodging the various obstacles in their way until they finally reach Robotnik in his control room. Snively is also there.
Robotnik: What?! How did you manage to get all the way here?!
Sonic: Maybe you should invest in some better traps, doc!
Sally: It’s over, Robotnik! Surrender now, or we’ll bring you in by force.
Robotnik: Hmm… surrender or fight. I pick… option C!
He presses a button on his console. Red lights begin blaring, and sirens begin wailing.
Robotnik: This place is about to blow! You better start running!

He takes off, with Cluck and Snively following close behind.
Sonic: Uh oh, time for some major juicing! Hold on tight everyone!
They all grab on to Sonic, who begins running as fast as he can. Eventually, he reaches a door that leads out onto the bridge. He notices Robotnik and Snively hop into the Eggmobile, and take off, Cluck following behind. Sonic runs across the bridge as Robotnik Island explodes behind them.
Sonic: Whew, is everyone alright?
Everyone says they're alright.
Sally: Oh, this is all my fault! We could have left earlier, but I had to say no, all for a chance at Robotnik which probably didn’t exist! And because of that, we almost got killed!
Sonic: Hey look, Sal. I know you’re the princess and all, but that doesn’t mean you have to be perfect all the time. Everyone makes mistakes, even royalty. And besides, because of it, Robotnik just lost his island. And if it ticked him off, it couldn’t have been that bad of an idea, right?
Sally: Right. Thanks, Sonic.
Sonic: Don’t mention it. Now let's head home, I could use some chili dogs right about now!
They all laugh and head home.
Above the island, Robotnik looks down at the smoldering ruin that was once his base with a furrowed brow.
Robotnik: Well, Snively, I believe I may have underestimated our opponents.
Snively: I noticed that, sir.
Snively mumbles under his breath.
Snively: You arrogant buffoon…
Robotnik: What was that?
Snively: I said, we’ll have vengeance soon, sir!
Robotnik nods, before the eggmobile begins to sputter, before stopping.
Robotnik: Snively, did you remember to fill the eggmobile before we left?
Snively: Well sir, with all due respect, in all the chaos, it may have, er, slipped my mind?
Robotnik sighs, before plummeting towards the ocean. Cluck dives down after them.
The heroes have returned to Knothole.
Sonic: You sure you guys don’t want to stick around? We could really use you guys.
Mighty: As much as I’d love to, my sister’s still out there, and I can’t rest until I know she’s alright.
Ray: Yeah, that’s the whole reason we went to Robotnik’s lair in the first place.
Sally: Well, we can’t make you do anything. Good luck out there, guys.
Mighty: Same to you, highness.
Ray: Bye, guys, see you later!
The two take off, leaving the village behind them
Stone is looking at a screen, before a door opens. Robotnik and Snively come in, soaking wet, with an exhausted Cluck hanging off Robotnik’s shoulder.
Stone: Ah, doctor, you’re back! I noticed the self-destruct on Robotnik Island went off. I’m guessing things didn’t go well?
Robotnik sits in his main chair, moving Cluck to his lap as he begins petting him, with Snively moving to his private chambers.
Robotnik: Don’t ask, Stone. I just… really hope you have some good news. For both our sakes.
Stone: Well, I think this should qualify.
He brings up an image of a satellite on the main computer screen
Stone: The chaos energy satellite picked up a massive reading on South Island. It might be what you’re looking for.
Robotnik instantly brightens up, leaning up in his chair.
Robotnik: Really? Fantastic! Now we’ll be able to get the others!
He gets out of the chair, gently placing Cluck where he sat.
Robotnik: Alert the forces in the Scrap Brain we’ll be visiting tomorrow. Prepare the Sky Base for take off. And while you're at it, get me a coffee.
Stone: Of course Doctor. Steamed Downundian goat milk latte?
Robotnik: You know it!
