Harder Than A Howitzer Hits

Summary:

Katsuki loves Eijirou.

Like, loves him harder than a Howitzer hits.

Sure, he's got a disconnect between his heart and his shit mouth-- so admitting soft things out loud sucks ass and honestly it's harder than swallowing glass-- but it doesn't change the fact that he is absolutely gone for his dumbass.

Work Text:

Katsuki loves Eijirou.

Like, loves him harder than a Howitzer hits.

Sure, he's got a disconnect between his heart and his shit mouth-- so admitting soft things out loud sucks ass and honestly it's harder than swallowing glass-- but it doesn't change the fact that he is absolutely gone for his dumbass.

He loves him every day, even on the days Ei's brillance knows no bounds.

Like when he microwaved Katsuki's toast because he didn't want to drag out the toaster and served him floppy, warm bread. Or when he washed Katsuki's favorite sweats on extra hot because he wanted Katsuki to be comfier faster-- which shrunk the fuckers.

He loves him on quiet days, when they're both reeling from hero work, or just stuck in their heads, so their living room is mostly silent, except the TV. The nights when he just exists, just lays on Eijirou's chest and listens to the heartbeat he knows he could pick out of a line up.

Loving someone other than yourself is fucking terrifying. It's literally handing someone your breakable soul, wrapped in bubble wrap with a Please, don't fucking break me or I'll never heal sign.

He never imagined he'd be one of the idiots willing to expose so much of his trust, to hand himself to another person for safe keeping. To him, it had always seemed like anyone doing so was ASKING to be hurt.

But the thing is, he doesn't remember giving himself to Eijirou in one big gesture. It was slow, parts of him parceled out when Eijirou smiled at him, or bought him his favorite juice from the machine, or when he massaged Katsuki's hands after sparing, or when he saved half a sweet treat because he knew Katsuki liked it.

And then all at once he realized, Fuck, Eijirou's got me.

The good news is, it's not weakness, or a lost of any kind, because at the same time, Katsuki's become the sole proprietor of Eijirou. It's like they traded, Katsuki's little heart for Eijirou's huge one.

Fuckin' weirdly enough, it's like he's /stronger/ having earned Eijirou's love. Every shark tooth smile and crimson eyes crinkled at the corners makes Katsuki feel like a God.

When he's without Eijirou, when he's in a situation that would normally give him anxiety, like, a fucking gun being pointed at his face, Eijirou's the calling in his heart that makes him strong, makes him say, "You just fucking wait until Riot gets home," as he's pistol whipped.

And when Eijirou busts a fucking wall in to find him, basically punches through a villain's chest to get to him, brushes his bruised face with his shaking, still hardened fingers, well there's no feeling like it on Earth.

He's not sure how he got so fucking lucky. Out of all the cities on the earth, all the schools in his prefecture, all the routes he could have taken, somehow he got Eijirou.

And he's absolutely never letting him go.
