Summary
Everyone in Alex’s family kept their hair long. He’d wanted his shorter for a long while, wanted to buzz it for about the same amount of time, but whenever he’d brought it up to his mother she’d refused to let him, telling him short hair would look terrible on him and that a buzz cut would grow out to look like the head of a dandelion clock and his hair would never lay flat again, so he’d never got the courage to do it. Moving away for university made it easier to think about doing it though, with no one around him to tell him it’d look awful and ruin his hair forever.
And now here he was, a few months later, kneeling on the tiled floor in the kitchen with his eyes shut waiting for Brian to finally make the leap for him.
