Chapter Text
The bass throbbed through the floor of Scandals, vibrating up Kurt Hummel's legs as he stood by the bar, nursing his third—no, maybe his fourth—drink of the night. He wasn't even sure why he had come tonight. Normally, a place like this wasn't his scene, but after the week he'd had, the alcohol felt necessary. His usual caution and restraint had started to slip away with each sip.
He kept to himself, glancing around the room with a glazed-over look, his mind slightly fuzzy from the drinks. His usual nerves were muted, and the room felt... warmer. More relaxed. Kurt hadn't noticed the pair of eyes watching him from across the room, but Sebastian Smythe had been keeping a close eye on him for a while now.
Sliding through the crowd with his usual confidence, Sebastian finally reached Kurt's side, leaning casually against the bar. His lips curled into a smirk as he sized up the situation.
"Surprised to see you here, Hummel," Sebastian drawled, his voice laced with amusement. "What's the occasion? You get lost on your way to some poetry reading?"
Kurt's eyes flickered up to Sebastian, and he gave him a lazy, unimpressed look before turning his attention back to his drink. Normally, Kurt would have tensed, prepared to throw up his usual walls. But tonight was different—he was different. He felt a strange, almost dangerous kind of confidence simmering inside him.
Sebastian didn't seem to notice at first. "Didn't expect to see you out in a place like this," Sebastian continued, his tone teasing. "What are you even doing here?"
Kurt took a slow sip of his drink, eyes still not quite focused. "What does it look like I'm doing?" he replied, his voice softer, but laced with an edge that Sebastian hadn't anticipated.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "Drinking yourself brave, I see." He leaned in a little closer, his voice dropping as his gaze swept over Kurt with that usual cocky air. "Or is it that you're hoping someone will finally notice you, once you're tipsy enough to stop being such a saint?"
Kurt's lips quirked upward slightly, but he didn't respond. Sebastian, encouraged by the lack of snappy retort, moved closer. He was in his element—confident, dominant, always knowing how to push just the right buttons.
"I think you like it when I get close like this," Sebastian whispered, his breath hot against Kurt's ear. His hand ghosted over Kurt's waist, teasingly close but not quite touching. "You're not telling me to stop, after all."
Kurt's pulse quickened, but his reaction wasn't what Sebastian expected. Instead of the usual flustered retreat or sharp remark, Kurt leaned into Sebastian's space, his lips dangerously close to Sebastian's neck now.
"You think you know everything, don't you?" Kurt's voice was different now—lower, sultrier, dripping with a kind of confidence that left Sebastian blinking in surprise.
"Maybe I just don't usually care enough to respond," Kurt continued, his fingers lightly trailing down Sebastian's arm, sending a shiver through him. "But tonight... you want to play, Sebastian?"
Sebastian froze. This wasn't the Kurt he knew—the shy, reserved Kurt who always deflected with wit and sarcasm. This Kurt was different. His movements were smooth, deliberate, and his gaze was anything but shy. There was something dark and dangerous in his eyes now.
"I...," Sebastian started, trying to regain his composure, but Kurt cut him off.
"You know," Kurt whispered, his lips just brushing against Sebastian's ear, "you talk a lot for someone who never seems to do much."
Sebastian's heart raced, but before he could come up with some clever comeback, Kurt's fingers grazed his chest, dangerously close to the collar of his shirt. Kurt's touch was light, almost teasing, but the heat from his hand sent a jolt through Sebastian's body.
"I always thought you were compensating for something," Kurt continued, his voice smooth, teasing. "All that cocky attitude, all that talk... I've always wondered what you were really hiding under there."
Sebastian's smirk faltered. He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. Kurt had completely flipped the script on him, and Sebastian was left standing there, for the first time in as long as he could remember, utterly speechless.
"You're not saying much now, are you?" Kurt purred, his lips hovering near Sebastian's neck now, his breath warm against his skin. "I thought you liked being in control. What happened, Sebastian? Cat got your tongue?"
Sebastian swallowed hard, the confident, cocky façade slipping as Kurt's fingers played dangerously along the hem of his shirt, tugging slightly. Sebastian could feel his heart pounding in his chest, completely caught off guard by this new version of Kurt—this confident, dirty-mouthed flirt who seemed to know exactly how to push his buttons now.
"You... you've had a bit to drink," Sebastian managed to choke out, trying to find his footing again. He attempted to regain control of the situation, but Kurt wasn't backing down. Not tonight.
Kurt let out a low chuckle, the sound sending a shiver down Sebastian's spine. "Oh, I've had just enough," Kurt said, his voice dropping to a near whisper, his lips brushing dangerously close to Sebastian's neck now. "Enough to finally stop pretending."
Sebastian blinked, utterly stunned. Kurt's hand slid up his chest, resting just over his heart, feeling the rapid thumping beneath his skin. Kurt leaned in even closer, his lips grazing Sebastian's ear as he whispered, "I think you like this. You like being shocked. Maybe you're not the only one who can be... unpredictable."
Sebastian's breath caught in his throat, the usual cocky confidence shattered in the face of this sultry, uninhibited version of Kurt. He wasn't used to being on the receiving end of this kind of attention, and for once, he didn't have a quick retort or smug comeback.
Kurt pulled back slightly, his eyes locking with Sebastian's, a satisfied smirk on his lips. "You always thought you had me figured out," Kurt said, voice dripping with amusement. "But I guess tonight's full of surprises."
With one last lingering touch, Kurt stepped back, leaving Sebastian standing there, completely thrown off balance. Kurt took a slow sip of his drink, his eyes never leaving Sebastian's, before flashing him a wicked smile.
"Maybe next time, you'll be the one playing catch-up," Kurt said, turning on his heel and sauntering toward the dance floor, leaving Sebastian staring after him, speechless and utterly stunned.
Sebastian stood frozen for a moment, Kurt's sultry words still lingering in his mind. His heart raced in his chest, the tables completely turned. For once, he was the one caught off guard, the one left speechless. It had been unexpected—this bold, confident side of Kurt. But Sebastian wasn't one to back down from a challenge. In fact, he thrived on it.
His smirk slowly returned as he watched Kurt sway toward the dance floor, a little too confident for Sebastian's liking.
No, Kurt wasn't going to get away that easily.
With a determined stride, Sebastian followed after him, weaving through the crowd until he found Kurt standing near the center of the floor, his body moving slightly to the beat. The alcohol still buzzed through Kurt's system, loosening his inhibitions, but he was all too aware of the eyes that followed him—especially Sebastian's.
Before Kurt could fully settle into the rhythm of the music, Sebastian slid up behind him, his breath once again hot on Kurt's neck.
"Leaving so soon? That's not very fair, now is it?" Sebastian's voice was low and velvety, his hand resting lightly on Kurt's hip, fingers teasingly close but not quite touching.
Kurt's body tensed for just a second before he let out a soft, almost amused chuckle. He could feel Sebastian's presence behind him, the warmth of his body pressing just close enough to feel the heat but still leaving space between them.
"I didn't think you were the type to chase," Kurt replied smoothly, turning his head just enough so that his lips were near Sebastian's ear. "Didn't peg you as one to lose control."
Sebastian's grip on Kurt's hip tightened slightly, and a low chuckle escaped his lips. "Oh, don't get too cocky, Hummel," he whispered, his voice firm but teasing. "You've had your fun, but we both know who's in charge here."
Kurt's eyes flashed with mischief, his lips curling into a smirk. "Is that so?" he murmured, rolling his hips back just enough to brush against Sebastian. "Because it seems like you're the one following me."
The boldness in Kurt's voice caught Sebastian off guard again, but this time, he wasn't going to let it throw him. Instead, he leaned in closer, his chest now pressing firmly against Kurt's back, trapping him between the heat of his body and the heavy pulse of the music surrounding them.
"I don't think you know what you've started," Sebastian breathed into Kurt's ear, his lips grazing the sensitive skin there as his hand slid around Kurt's waist, pulling him closer. "You might think you're in control, but I promise you... that's not how this is going to end."
Kurt's breath hitched slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He twisted in Sebastian's hold, turning to face him, their bodies now pressed together. "Oh?" Kurt asked, raising an eyebrow, his voice still dripping with confidence. "And what exactly are you going to do about it, Smythe?"
Sebastian's lips curled into a slow, dangerous smirk. He let his hand trail down Kurt's side, his fingers brushing lightly against the fabric of Kurt's shirt before sliding lower. "I think you've forgotten who you're dealing with," Sebastian said, his voice low and sultry. "I don't lose control—I take control."
Without missing a beat, Sebastian's hand dipped lower, grazing Kurt's hip before pulling him in firmly, their bodies now fully flush against each other. Kurt let out a small gasp, but the sound was quickly swallowed by the thumping of the music.
Kurt was no longer the one steering this interaction, and it was clear in Sebastian's piercing gaze that he had no intention of letting Kurt get away with his earlier boldness. "You might have had a little too much to drink, but trust me," Sebastian continued, his lips brushing against Kurt's ear again, "I know exactly what I'm doing."
Kurt swallowed hard, his mind spinning between the alcohol and the heat of Sebastian's touch. For a moment, his confident demeanor wavered, his breath catching in his throat. Sebastian's dominance was overwhelming, and for the first time that night, Kurt wasn't sure what to do next.
"I think... you like it when someone pushes you," Sebastian said, his voice a little rougher now as his hand splayed across Kurt's lower back, holding him in place. "You like being in control, but we both know you've been waiting for someone to take the reins."
Kurt's lips parted, his heart pounding in his chest as Sebastian's words sank in. The usual shy, reserved Kurt was nowhere to be found now, but the haze of alcohol and the sheer intensity of Sebastian's presence had left him completely disarmed.
Sebastian leaned down, his lips brushing against Kurt's neck as he whispered, "So, are you going to let me show you how it's done, or are you going to keep pretending you're the one in charge?"
Kurt shivered under the heat of Sebastian's breath, his resolve quickly crumbling as his body responded in ways he hadn't anticipated. He wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or Sebastian's overpowering energy, but his confidence from earlier was quickly fading, leaving him feeling vulnerable and, despite himself, a little excited.
Sebastian's lips curled into a knowing smirk as he felt Kurt's body relax against him. "That's what I thought," he murmured, his hand tightening slightly around Kurt's waist. "You might like to play games, but trust me, I always win."
For the first time that night, Kurt found himself speechless, his body completely at the mercy of Sebastian's touch, and Sebastian—well, he wasn't about to let him forget it.
Kurt's breath hitched as Sebastian's lips lingered dangerously close to his neck. The heat between their bodies was palpable now, the music around them dimming in Kurt's mind as all his focus centered on the boy in front of him. His earlier confidence was slipping away, replaced by something far more vulnerable, more raw.
But Sebastian wasn't about to give him any room to think. The smirk on his lips widened as he felt Kurt's body soften against his. He had taken control of the situation, and now it was his game to play. Slowly, deliberately, Sebastian pulled Kurt closer, their hips flush, the heat between them electrifying.
"You've got quite a mouth on you when you've had a drink, haven't you?" Sebastian murmured, his fingers trailing lightly over Kurt's waist, teasing. "But let's see if you can keep up."
Kurt swallowed hard, his head spinning, but Sebastian's words struck something inside him. His heart pounded in his chest, but a flicker of the earlier confidence returned, small but persistent. "Who said I can't?" Kurt managed to say, his voice breathier than he'd intended.
Sebastian chuckled darkly, the sound low and filled with amusement. "Careful, Hummel," he warned, his hand sliding up Kurt's back. "Don't forget who you're playing with. I don't think you're ready for what happens when you cross that line."
Kurt's pulse quickened, but he wasn't about to back down now. Something about the way Sebastian spoke—so sure of himself, so completely in control—made him want to push just a little harder. His lips curled into a slight smirk, and before he could stop himself, Kurt leaned in, his mouth grazing Sebastian's ear as he whispered, "Maybe I want to cross it."
The words hung between them, heavy and charged, and for a moment, Sebastian faltered. He wasn't expecting Kurt to fight back, not like this. But then, a new glint of challenge sparked in his eyes. If Kurt wanted to play this game, Sebastian would make sure he knew exactly what that meant.
Sebastian's grip tightened, his fingers digging into Kurt's waist just enough to send a message. "You sure about that?" he asked, his voice rougher now, the teasing edge slipping into something more serious. His lips brushed against the sensitive skin of Kurt's neck, leaving a trail of heat in their wake.
Kurt shuddered, his body betraying him as a soft gasp escaped his lips. But instead of pulling back, he tilted his head slightly, giving Sebastian more access to his neck, his own actions catching him off guard. The alcohol buzzed in his veins, and the usual barriers he kept up were crumbling faster than he could rebuild them.
"I'm sure," Kurt whispered, his voice barely audible over the pounding music.
Sebastian's eyes darkened at Kurt's response. He wasn't going to let Kurt back out now. His lips trailed along Kurt's jaw, slow and deliberate, before moving up to his ear. "You're playing with fire, Hummel," he breathed, his voice a low, dangerous whisper. "And I'm not the kind of guy who plays fair."
Before Kurt could respond, Sebastian's lips were on his neck again, but this time, there was nothing teasing about it. He pressed firmly, his mouth trailing down the curve of Kurt's throat, nipping lightly at the skin. Kurt's breath caught in his throat, a soft moan escaping before he could stop it.
Sebastian's smirk returned, satisfied by the reaction he was drawing out of Kurt. "I knew it," he murmured against Kurt's skin. "You like this. You like losing control."
Kurt's hands instinctively reached for Sebastian's chest, fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt as he tried to steady himself. His mind was racing, a mix of sensations overwhelming him. The alcohol, the heat, the feel of Sebastian's lips—it was all too much, and yet he didn't want it to stop.
Sebastian pulled back slightly, just enough to look Kurt in the eyes. His gaze was intense, challenging, but there was something more now—a hunger that hadn't been there before. "I could make you beg for it, you know," Sebastian said, his voice rough and breathless, but still carrying that air of confidence.
Kurt's heart pounded in his chest, and his breath came in shallow, ragged bursts. Part of him wanted to push back, to throw one more biting remark at Sebastian, to regain some semblance of control—but the rest of him was far too caught up in the moment. He bit his lip, his fingers tightening around Sebastian's shirt as he leaned in closer, their lips now just a breath apart.
"Maybe I want you to," Kurt whispered, the words slipping out before he could stop them.
Sebastian's eyes widened for a split second, his pupils dilating as the full meaning of Kurt's words sank in. Then, without any further hesitation, he closed the distance between them, capturing Kurt's lips in a hard, possessive kiss.
Kurt gasped against Sebastian's mouth, but quickly melted into the kiss, his hands sliding up to grip the back of Sebastian's neck, pulling him closer. The kiss was fiery, intense, a clash of dominance and surrender all at once. Sebastian's grip on Kurt tightened, pulling him flush against his body as their lips moved together with an urgency neither of them had expected.
The music throbbed around them, the crowd of people dancing seemingly unaware of the charged moment happening in the middle of the floor. But for Kurt and Sebastian, the rest of the world had faded away. All that mattered was the heat between them, the press of their bodies, and the dizzying sensation of being completely caught up in each other.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless. Kurt's head was spinning, and it wasn't just from the alcohol anymore. He looked up at Sebastian, his eyes dark with desire, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them thick and electric.
"You sure you want to keep playing this game?" Sebastian asked, his voice husky as he leaned in close again, his breath warm against Kurt's ear. "Because once we start, there's no turning back."
Kurt's heart raced, but he didn't hesitate. He wasn't sure if it was the alcohol giving him courage or the undeniable chemistry between them, but he wasn't about to back down now. "I've never been more sure," Kurt replied, his voice steady despite the fluttering in his chest.
Sebastian's smirk returned, and he pulled Kurt even closer, his hand slipping down to rest possessively on Kurt's hip. "Good," he whispered. "Because I'm just getting started."
