Most assume Megatron is inherently violent; but few, like Soundwave, the Vehicons, the Prime, and Starscream, know his strength is not just made for slaughtering his enemies, but also for lifting the weight of others' backs. His arms could grasp at his enemy's neck, snapping it, but his arms could also wrap around you in a firm, sure embrace.
x-x
The first instance is after a wrecker slaughtered Soundwave's unborn cassette during a torture session. Soundwave couldn't- so he didn't. He set it aside and prayed to an unforgiving Primus that it wouldn't catch up to him, but it did. Soundwave fell to his knees, sobbing, glitching because his baby was dead. She wasn't coming back to kick at his insides, never going to make him coo and cry over how perfectly she would fit in with her siblings. He probably wouldn't ever have any cassettes ever again. And Megatron picked him up. He wrapped his strong arms around Soundwave and let him cry. Let him kick and scream over how it wasn't fair, leaving dents in his future amica's plating, and Megatron listened.

The second instance is when the oldest vehicon model, A-01-1984, or Alatus, was killed. Not during a battle, not an honorable death, it was during a mining accident. He wasn't even supposed to be there for long, but he sacrificed himself to protect a group of younger miners. It was a long, heavy mourning period for the normally upbeat and obedient vehicons. Megatron had ordered all models from A-02 to Q--97 to the bridge. He gathered as many vehicons as he could in his strong, but gentle arms and let them sob and hug closer to the warlord. Megatron whispered his condolences, resting his heavy helm over their limp frames protectively.

The third instance is when Starscream's trinemates, his brothers, Skywarp and Thundercracker were lost in the ever-evolving struggle of War. He wasn't allowed to bury them, or even mourn. They were melted down in an attempt to protect the Nemesis' hull. Tarn, of all mechs, was sent to talk to him during his grieving period. He spat and quipped at Starscream to get over it, over losing his lifelong, ever-constant friends and family members. He shut off from everyone, becoming an angry, rage-filled shell of himself. Megatron reached out and pushed through the seeker's boundaries. He came to Starscream while he was brooding, and without warning, pulled the small, lithe frame to his, careful to avoid the mech's sensitive wings. Starscream couldn't help breaking down into wet tears, gulping and coughing. He scratched the mech's sliver plating, mewling. Megatron ignored the energon leak in favor of hugging his SIC.

The fourth and last instance happened when Optimus Prime was captured by the Decepticons. He was so lonely. The only time he was allowed to even see anyone was when the guards pried open the gates every solar cycle to deliver his daily rations. Megatron hadn't even shown his scowling faceplate before he was taken into their custody. Anger was quick to follow. He was angry because he was alone, left abandoned, and cycles had passed and his Autobots hadn't even tried to take him back. This went on for cycles, a brooding rage stuck inside of the 'golden' Prime, unfaltering until the proud Warlord had stepped inside his large cell. Optimus had yelled, and screamed, thundering off the walls and reburating even louder at the tyrant. Megatron had remained stoic and calm, even as the prime shoved a digit in his face and his rage turned to messy, ugly sobs. Megatron slowly wrapped his monstrous servos around the rocking, angry prime, unbothered by the dents and the punches thrown his way. He only hugged tighter, until the punches had ceased and the prime's angry yells had stopped echoing in his audials. Sobs had started, along with the prime begging, "Why?"
Megatron hadn't answered. He just rocked the prime until he went still and limp in his arms. He drew away, half a joor later. He paused with his back kibble to the prime at the door. His helm turned to the shocked prime, but he shut the door before either could speak.
