Sethos loves to spend time with Cyno's family. Since his grandparent passed away, he decided to be the best uncle for Collei & brother in law to Tignari.
He heard a rumor (he has many contacts) his niece's favorite mall just opened a new Ramen + Boba tea shop, so he convinced the whole family to try it out with him thanks to his amazing charm & talking skill. But not even with that he was prepared for what was coming next.
Cyno's family wasn't exactly the stylish type unlike him, so most of the clothes he wears with them started to be very casual & baggy, besides he spends his days mostly in elegant (and expensive) suits as the CEO of the Temple of Silence he is. He was comfortable with that, but from the very first moment he noticed the cashier of the shop, he regretted the simple clothes he was wearing that day.
Above all things in his wardrove, he had to choose the simple white t-shirt with some golden ancient Egypt drawings, tight jeans and black & white tennis. At least he had his hair fixed and his perfume on.
A beautiful man (or woman? He wasn't sure) in the coolest outfit under his apron was waiting for the next client, looking gorgeous even when he looked bored as hell. With just one glance, he noticed a beautiful dragon earring outlined the contour of his ear, as well as some other earrings in the same ear. He must be very tolerant of pain, because Sethos never dared.
The guy was wearing some kind of black turtleneck sheer top without sleeves under a black & grey striped sweater cropped off the shoulders, a pair of long net gloves and some gothic chains under a chocker. And, as if this wasn't enough, the guy had the most beautiful bluish eyes adorned by a red eye shadow with black eyeliner. Ah! And his second favorite part. He had the coolest, but cutest, black cat beanie with some chains on it.
Sethos had to breathe deeply to get the courage to step in, just to get a direct attack to his heart as the handsome guy immediately smiled to welcome them.
He has experienced enough to notice that was just a "professional smile", but it was enough to make him daydream with how beautiful that guy might be with a real smile.
—Good evening. The menu, please —Sethos said as he noticed the family distracted looking at the new place.
—Here you have —the guy said, pointing at some printed menus so each one of them could take so he could go back to distract himself.
Just with that action Sethos noticed that guy wasn't the talkative type. It wasn't a problem; he could talk for both of them!
—Hey Sethos, what are you going to order?— Cyno asked as he noticed he wasn't looking at his menu.
—Ah... I haven't decided yet! Let me see...
Him & the family had previously decided to just choose a Buba tea, because that day Collei wanted to impress them with a new dish she learned, so it was supposed to be a quirk purchase, but since the menu had so many options that plan changed.
Actually, he noticed out of the corner of his eye how the pretty cashier was starting to lose his patience. They were lucky there were no other clients but them, therefore he didn't want to be rude or make that guy to hate (more?) his job.
—If you guys are not ready I'm ordering first— declared to get that hat guy's attention and approach him with his best smile - I want a cream brown sugar bubble tea, please. I've never tried it, but it looks very yummy!
—Cash or card?—Hey guy said after a brief moment when, for some reason, he avoided his gaze.
Had he done something wrong? Did he talk too much? He was just trying to be friendly...
—Card, please.
He couldn't blame him. Maybe he was too tired to chat with some stranger he would never see again in his life. He limited himself to pay, blaming himself for that sudden sad thought.
—Your order would be ready in a couple minutes.—The guy said with a smile before going to the back of the store.
Sethos got to hear another voice from where that guy went. He supposed another worker was the one to prepare the drinks, so he took advantage of that moment and, as the family hadn't decided, he approached to help them without realizing how fast that guy went back as a girl from the inside of the store was screaming something.
—Cyno bro, I've heard you like to try new things like me, right? Why don't you be brave & try that Taro bubble tea? Look! It's your favorite color!
—You're so right. I guess I could taro-y it!
Sethos laughed at his poor joke, but before Tignari said a word, he turned to him and said
—What about you, Tignari?
—I don't want something that risky...
—Then you should try the matcha one! You have tried it before in those hot lattes I brought home.
—True! I'm going to order that one! Thanks for the suggestion, Sethos.
—No problem, bro. Now, what about you Collei?
—I don't know I want something sweet...
Sethos knew how much the young girl likes to imitate her Tignari dad, so after thinking a little bit, he came up with the solution.
—Then you should try the honeydew milk tea! It's like the one Tignari is ordering, but sweeter.
—Really? Yes, please! Uncle Sethos, you're the best!
The little girl hugged him before approaching her parents with the biggest smile, just to find out an even bigger surprise.
Not only the family was smiling now. The guy behind the cash register was smiling too. But it wasn't the same fake smile he showed when they came. He looked like he was laughing at something & he was really happy about it.
The guy looked at him as soon as he finished to attend the whole family, stopping his heart at the very moment as the guy whispered something.
— "Thank you"
He said, before going to the back of the shop, letting Sethos confused as he tried to find what that guy was thanking him about.
Cyno & the family decided to sit down while the guy was back with their beverages, but as soon as he came back, he brought just the one Sethos was ordered for.
—One cream brown sugar for the guy skilled with words. Sethos, right?
—Y-Yeah! Were you listening?
—Of course. What else would I be listening to? My boss doesn't let me use earphones... —the guy joked as he gave Sethos his straw too— Maybe you could work here so everyone would choose faster, but I don't wish that punishment to anyone. I feel like a prisoner here.
The laugh of that guy was the most beautiful sound he has ever heard. Was that guy that talkative this whole time? How he wished to spend the day talking to him, but as soon as he said that he had to go back for the other orders.
That's when he finally looked down at the bubble tea & realized a cute (but not perfect) heart on top of his cream that made Sethos blush.
What was a heart doing there? Did every beverage look like that?
He tried to look normal & rushed himself to start drinking his tea as the hat guy came back with the other's orders. He cried inside for destroying that lovely heart, but maybe he could compliment the guy on how tasty his drink was!
Ugh... but did he make a mistake & choose the wrong beverage for him? He wanted something sweet, but as he was drinking, it became more & more sweet... It wasn't what he thought it would be, but he didn't want to disrespect the guy & his co-worker's job.
—You have to mix it.
The guy's voice suddenly whispered in his ear, bringing Sethos back from his thoughts.
—What?
—Your tea. The sugar remains stagnant at the bottom of the glass while the cream is on top, so you have to stir it.
—Ah, this? I mean, yeah, thanks!
It was logical, but having that guy so close to him meanwhile he explained it to him didn't let Sethos think straight (badum tss).
He stirred it as he thanked God his skin doesn't show that easily how much he was blushing.
—It's so much better now. Thank you!
—No problem.
The whole family tried their drink & everyone thanked the guy before approaching the door.
He didn't want to leave, but as his family was waiting outside, there was no other option than saying goodbye.
—Thank you, again. I hope your punishment ends soon.
—Thanks, I wish the same. Ah! Don't forget your receipt! I don't want my stupid boss to get mad at me. Come back soon!
—I, I mean, we will!
Sethos' delusional mind wished that guy's last words were for real. He was really wishing to go back, but he only visited Cyno's home at most once a month, because their jobs in the company were demanding & they could stay in contact by the internet anyway.
Sethos sighed as he went out & folded his receipt to save it when he noticed something weird on it.
What was that handwriting message doing there?
He opened again as he got into Cyno's car and almost choked when he read:
"My number is XX-XXXX-XXXXX. Call me Scara"
The whole family laughed at how red Sethos suddenly was, of course, after asking if he was okay.
—What happened bro? That little cat ate your tongue? —Cyno joked, apparently knowing about his whole situation.
But Sethos didn't care if they laughed! He was feeling better than ever! He was attractive to his crush too! And that hope was sweeter than his Cream brown sugar buba tea.
